AbleCare Homes Welcome to AbleCare Homes page! We are a fourth generation award winning family run company offering small boutique care homes in your neighbourhood.

Get your updates here on things going on in our six care homes such as entertainment and activities, events, minibus trips and days out, updates on maintenance work and refurbishment and so on! AbleCare Homes is a group of six care homes based across Bristol and South Gloucestershire offering residential care to local people provided by local people. We provide care for older people, people with dementia and individuals who need a period of intensive support prior to moving into more independent living. Excellent meals are cooked by our in-house chefs, activities are stimulating and fun, care is provided by professional Care Assistants. We work to Covid-19 safe practices and have excellent infection control. Long term care, short breaks for family holidays and carer breaks, recuperation stays after illness can all be arranged.

🎉 Fun Afternoon at Hengrove Lodge! 🏃‍♀️🤸‍♂️

This afternoon at Hengrove Lodge, residents enjoyed a lively exercise session filled with laughter and smiles. We had great fun trying out the hula hoop, followed by a cheerful game of bouncing the ball together.

The energy was fantastic, and everyone joined in with plenty of giggles and encouragement. It was a lovely way to keep active, connect with one another, and end the afternoon on a high note! 🌟💪💖

🧼✨ Patron House Celebrates Global Handwashing Day! ✋💧

Today at Patron House, residents and staff came together to celebrate Global Handwashing Day — with plenty of smiles and sparkling clean hands! 😄

Everyone took part in a fun and educational session about the importance of handwashing and good hygiene. Before lunch, we all followed the proper handwashing steps — making sure every finger and palm got a good scrub!

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal together, feeling fresh, healthy, and happy. 🥰🥗

A perfect reminder that clean hands save lives — and can make for a joyful afternoon too! 💦🌸

📚 Book Club & Memory Folders at Hengrove Lodge 🏡✨

This morning, residents enjoyed a nostalgic trip through the Victorian era, 1950s, 60s, and 80s. From old modes of transport like push bikes and Vespas (which brought plenty of laughs) to plates and cups with royal paintings, the memories and stories flowed freely.

We had a fantastic and creative time this afternoon decorating our special pink-themed cupcakes for Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Residents enjoyed the hands-on piping activity, personalizing their treats with the pink buttercream and glacé cherries. More importantly, this activity provided a relaxed and positive environment for us to have an important and open discussion about breast cancer awareness, encouraging everyone to share thoughts, experiences, and spread the word about the importance of early detection. It was a lovely, engaging way to show our support for this vital cause!

The residents thoroughly enjoyed decorating and eating pink-themed cupcakes 🧁💖, bringing sparkling smiles and sparking important conversations about the value of regular breast checks.

In the afternoon, we continued the fun with a boobie cake for dessert, decorated with pink icing and cherries 🍒 — a sweet and memorable way to support this vital cause!
