Who said you should start the New Year resolutions 2025 with a bang!
Hi we are now at the start of 2025. This time of year can be exciting, but also very daunting and very overwhelming for most of us.
When planning health goals. “Where do I begin?” With so many life changes, fad diets and health information on computer etc. it can feel lost in a field surrounding stuff, with no directions to follow. The question I ask you "Do you need to make New Year's resolution in January? Personally, I say "no as it automatically it adds stress and pressure and unrealistic targets."
Clients often say to me this time of year: “Do you know what Dan I feel like I am going round in circles”, or others will say "Help! I am feeling stressed and frustrated," or say "I just wanna give up I feel like hitting a brick wall.”
If this is you don’t worry YOU are not the only one, I think majority of the human population in the world feels the same way as you do. “Honestly, I mean that!”
As education professionals (teachers, lecturers, teaching assistants, support services in education, private tutors, study coaches, education administators etc) live in a professions where we can be very hard on our learning. There is an expectation for teaching professional have to know everything in life in both the classroom, professional development, views of society, and in your personal lives. This expectation causes pressure and stress, which then can have a negitive affect our holistic health and wellness. I am here to help and support you on your journey to better you both professionally as education professional and but also importantly you outside work as a person.
So on a solution focused perspective, there are 6 simple tips to overcome this stress:
1. Focus on one realistic goal, you do not have to achieve your goals at once.
2. Does it have to be a ‘resolution’? It can be on your terms at the right time for you? You do not have to choose January to achieving a goal, start anytime of year!
3. It's fine to make mistakes, you do not have o start over again. Just pause, reassess your goals and steps and just carry on!
