Love a sauna for recovery but don’t have the time or means to get to one regularly?
As an age group athlete running a business and a family, I don’t have the time to get to a sauna regularly. A great alternative is a hot (and I mean really hot 🥵) Epsom salt bath.
Run quarter of a bath that is hot as you can tolerate, pour 3-4 cups of Epsom salt in, get in the bath, then run the rest of it as hot as you can tolerate. Getting in halfway through will make it easier to tolerate more heat. I some times put a towel over my head to get my body temperature as hot as possible. Sit for at least 20 mins and finish off with a 5 min cold shower 👌🏻
CAUTION- don’t do this alone you can pass out and drown! Have someone check in on you. Don’t do it if you have medical conditions or are pregnant. Be safe!
