We’ve had a very busy afternoon! After our planned entertainment had to cancel, we embarked on our own entertaining programme ! 🎲

First, we completed a ‘Merry Month of May’ quiz which was fun as well as educational! Every day’s a school day! 😅

Then, we had a couple of rounds of dominoes before playing tin can alley, keeping the balls on the parachute & snakes and ladders! 🐍

Helped by our visiting students, a jolly afternoon was passed with much laughter and happy smiles. 😀

Another varied Friday at Collingwood with residents planting potatoes in the morning and then relaxing with a spa in the afternoon!

Ohhhh, didn’t we have a lovely day, the day we went to Chew Valley lake for fish and chips!

We enjoyed lunch with a view at the Salt and Malt restaurant beside the lake, and a few also indulged in a lunchtime tipple. 😀

The view and fresh air was gorgeous and we took advantage of the favourable weather by sitting outside while we let our food go down.

We returned back to Collingwood in time for tea and cake so all in all a perfect day! 🧁

Watercolour Wednesday had a royal theme this week to mark what would have been the late Queen’s 100th birthday week. 👑

As usual, the conversation flowed as easily as the painting and a lovely relaxing but interesting time was spent in good company.

At the end of the day 2 students from Oldfield School joined us on their first day volunteering for their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.

The girls were an absolute pleasure and took to it with ease. They showed perfect manners, maturity and had excellent interpersonal skills.

The girls encouraged residents to join them in a ‘hunt the item’ activity which allowed them to make acquaintances in an informal way.

Everyone was very impressed with them and are looking forward to their weekly visits. Well done, girls 👏

Yesterday, we were thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Siobhan back to our home. 🎶

Her beautiful voice never fails to fill the room and touch our hearts. We were moving and grooving in our seats and and on the dance floor.🕺💃

If only we could all sing like she can, but it is fun trying! 😀
