Creature Cuddles paid us a visit this morning with a vast array of cuddly and interesting creatures.

First, Tia the Pomeranian melted our hearts with her kisses and cuddles.

Bubbles the Guinea Pig enjoyed being tickled on her head as well as stroked along her back.

Residents had various reactions to the Giant African Millipede! Some were brave enough to touch the 400 legged creature but only staff members Helen and Josh braved holding her!

Cocoa the fancy satin mouse was more popular! Her silky fur was soft to touch.

Finally, Shelley the Herman’s Tortoise liked a stroke on her head as well as on her shell.

The residents enjoyed their animal therapy this morning, thanks to Melissa and her creature collection.

We celebrated Pancake Day in many forms today!

We had pancakes, lemon and sugar for dessert at lunchtime. 🥞

After lunch, we had a Pancake Quiz and we all learnt a lot!

Finally, we had a go at pancake tossing! 😅

On Monday, residents joined our visiting Hymns Team to take part in a service of readings and accompanying hymns.

Last week saw preparations for Valentine’s Day, heart shaped jam tarts being made, some balloon tennis as well as puppy cuddles.

A visit from the local library refreshed our bank of books. The residents enjoyed choosing books that took their interest. 📚

Continuing the Valentines theme, Collingwood took a stroll down memory lane this afternoon as Sandra treated us to her amazing costume miniatures.

Her mini wedding dresses spanned the years from the 1930’s to 1980’s. The intricate and detailed dresses were absolutely beautiful and had us all cooing our appreciation.

Residents reminisced about their own wedding day as well as famous and royal weddings.

We all had our favourite dress but it was hard to choose as they were all gorgeous.
A lovely afternoon was had by all, and we can’t wait for Sandra to return with more of her creations.

Our bird box and camera are up and ready to welcome any new residents! 🪺🪶
Purchased with the money raised from our Christmas fayres and party, we will be able to live stream all the action. This exciting new activity can be shared and viewed via the home’s iPads or television.

In addition, with the arrival of duckling eggs and incubator in early March, we can all embrace spring this year with a variety of feathered friends. 🦆
