✨ We’re almost at the peak of Autumn β€” a time to prepare for winter, to release what no longer serves, and to embrace quiet transformation 🍁.

As the trees let go of their leaves πŸ‚, nature reminds us of the beauty in surrender β€” of making space for stillness, reflection, and renewal. This is the time when energy turns inward, inviting us to slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect with our roots.

🍁 Yoga in Autumn helps us align with these natural rhythms. Through mindful somatic movement, grounding breath, core connection techniques and active listening, we can explore our inner landscape, balance shifting energies, stoke our inner fire, and soften into change with grace and presence.

πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Whether you’re craving reconnection, balance, or simply a moment to listen to your inner soundscape β€” Autumn is the perfect time to turn inwards and sense your inner wild.

πŸŒ• Join me for a Yoga Rewild class to embody this Autumn flow, or come journey deeper at the Samhain Yoga Gong Journey on 2nd Nov (link below), where sound and movement weave together to honour this liminal threshold between light and shadow.

πŸ‚ Step into this season’s magic β€” let’s move, release, and rise with the rhythm of Autumn.

When October turns into November we reach the peak of Autumn πŸ‚ . In the Celtic Wheel of the Year we celebrate the cross quarter festival of Samhain (pronouncedΒ sow {like a female pig} en (like the beginning of end).

Samhain is understood as the end and beginning of the year. It’s a moment of transition where Autumn gives way to Winter. The harvest is complete. The beautiful Autumn leaves are composting into the earth. The seeds have fallen and will remain in the moist fertile soil until they burst into life in Spring. The days are becoming darker and colder. And much of the natural world is slipping into dormancy.

We’re often taught that darkness is something to fear, but the natural world teaches us that darkness is simply part of the ongoing cycle of life. Death and darkness create space for new life to arise.

The darkness invites us into introspection, as we can explore our inner light which guides us through the layers of the self. Through a yoga sound journey we can listen through our bodies for inner wisdom that connects us to nature, our ancestors and spirits of these lands.

Join Sofia , Magda and I to mark Samhain through a Yoga Gong Journey on Sun 2 Nov in St George Bristol.

We partied this weekend like it was 2005, the only difference is that I was sober πŸ’›.

Returning to Liverpool, our old university stomping ground, for a 20 year reunion brought up great memories πŸ₯°.

Whilst I have practised sober raving over the last past decade, either because I was pregnant or at conscious festival/camp, I did wonder whether I’d manage back with my Liverpool mates.

I have so many fond memories of raving with this group of friends and being very high, I knew it would be tempting.

But what I discovered is that being surrounded by so many people I genuinely love and buzz off and dancing our socks off to music which reminds me of being smashed, is that I got just as high.

It was also my first time raving with ear plugs and not sure I would have lasted without them. The sound frequencies and vibrations of the sound systems were pretty loud. My ears were ringing for hours after, even wearing earplugs.

I felt really spaced out both nights when we got back to the hotel. I could feel the rippling effects of the vibrations still working through my body and I had really vivid dreams. A reminder of the power of sound.

I feel massively proud of myself for partying this weekend sober, for no other reason than proving to myself I don’t need to take anything to have a cracking weekend raving.

One benefit of being on the ADHD spectrum is being able to buzz off social interactions and environmental stimuli. Realising I can do this without drugs or alcohol, which inadvertently stop me sleeping and make me feel rough the next day, has been so freeing.

Channeling mushroom magic πŸ™ŒπŸ½ πŸ„β€πŸŸ«βœ¨πŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Feeling very inspired by mushrooms πŸ„ πŸ„β€πŸŸ« this week & super grateful πŸ™πŸ½ to my student who gave me these earrings in class today as a gift πŸ₯°

It is mushroom season and after so much rain 🌧️ , they have been popping up everywhere in the park near me.

This week I learnt that the ink-cap mushroom grows into its full fruit body and then dissolves into a black liquid through a process called deliquescence. This incredible process is completed within a 24 hour period.

As we near the end of the moon cycle 🌘, the waning crescent phase is the time to let go, to compost or dissolve what we don’t wish to carry into the next cycle. We can take inspiration from the ink-caps and dissolve what does not serve us into a black liquid.

In our yoga or meditation practice we can envision this black liquid seeping from our body back into the Earth. Knowing that by letting go, we enrich the soil for new growth in our next cycle.

A pose to drop the mental load! And don’t we all need that 🀯

Woweee the last couple of weeks have been intense.
Kids returning to school on the week of the lunar eclipse full moon πŸŒ•, 2 weeks of crazy monsoon like rain 🌧️ and we’re now descending towards the Autumn Equinox, solar eclipse new moon πŸŒ‘ and start of the dark half of the year.

Energies have been allllll over the place. And those of us who are neurodiverse, sensitive to environmental change and/or supporting someone who feels these subtle changes, it can feel a lot!

Personally, I’m loving Rabbit πŸ‡ Pose right now and have been weaving into my classes. I think the pose is totally underrated and the benefits can be felt instantaneously.

To practice, keep the weight in the legs, feel the support of the Earth to calm the mind, and let gravity elongate the neck (cervical spine). Stay in it for as long as you fancy. Perhaps 10 deep breaths. I also like doing gentle neck rolls (see video). Give it a go to let the mental load drop.

If you’re feeling the pull to tune in, drop into a Yoga Rewild class or come join the Autumn Equinox ceremony this Sunday (link in bio)

Big love
