Some information about prescriptions:
The NHS dispensing service allows our patients to obtain prescription medications at our pharmacy after a prescription has been issued by a GP or other authorised prescriber.
Please be aware that it can take at least 3-5 days from when you order your prescription, for the GP surgery to issue it and for us to dispense your medication.
This service is usually facilitated by the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS), which enables electronic prescriptions to be sent directly to our pharmacy, streamlining the dispensing process. Patients can nominate us as their preferred pharmacy.
For repeat prescriptions, you can hand your paper prescription ordering slip in at the GP practice or ask us to order them for you, but please note that using the NHS App or your GP practice ordering website/app is the most efficient and effective method of ordering your meds!

We can send you a text notification when your prescription is ready for collection if you have signed up to our text service. Please ask at the pharmacy counter if you would like to receive texts from us when your medecation is ready for you to pick up.

Have you considered our free contraceptive medication service? The pharmacist will conduct a consultation to assess suitability, discuss medical history, and offer advice on usage and potential side effects. The pharmacist will also check your blood pressure as part of the assessment.

Don't forget that Free NHS Blood Pressure checks are available to anyone over 40 years old. Furthermore, if we find you have raised blood pressure we can book you an appointment to have an ambulatory blood pressure monitor fitted here at Wrington Pharmacy. An ambulatory blood pressure monitor is worn by the patient for up to 12 hours and it records their BP throughout the day and an average reading can be calculated.

Now is a good time to plan ahead for the upcoming Bank Holiday on MONDAY 25TH AUGUST! The pharmacy will be closed on this date so don't get caught without your repeat medications and remember to order them in time. 💚💊👨‍⚕🙂

Wrington Pharmacy are working in partnership with the Royal Mail to enable patients to have their prescription medications delivered to them at home.
In most cases no signature will be required on delivery, medications will be posted through your letter box or left by the delivery person in a “safe place” as specified by you to the Royal Mail or at the discretion of the delivery person. Visit our website for further information.
