Thank you to the lovely Reception children at Wrington Primary School for welcoming us today to give a talk about medicine safety!
The class learned how some medicines can really look like sweets and that they should never take any kind of medicine unless a safe adult has said it is ok. We left lots of empty medicine bottles, and green cross bags so they could practise playing Pharmacies in the role play corner too. 👩‍⚕️😊🧑‍⚕️

High blood pressure doesn't have any symptoms so getting your pressure measured will give you an accurate assessment and let you know whether you need to consider getting it treated. Are you pregnant or have children under age 5? You could be eligible for a chip and pin card to use in any food shop/market towards buying healthy food, milk and formula. Free funds are added every 4 weeks!

Once you have your card you can show this at our North Somerset Family Hubs (Children's Centres), to claim free vitamins: child (0-4) vitamins drops and adult perinatal tablets. Also available in Pill and Weston libraries.

If you are already on the scheme, and have recently had a baby, do ensure you update Healthy Start with your baby's details - so you get more funds added to your food card , to help your little ones have the best start in life.

We have seen an increase in threadworms (pinworms) recently, especially amongst children. They are quite common and luckily not usually serious.

If you think you or your child require advice or treatment then do pop into the pharmacy. We have family packs of Ovex liquid suspension in a family pack and single dose or family pack tablets you can purchase over the counter. You don't need to see a GP.
