🌟 St A’s Practice Managers – we need your help! 🌟
( but 🤫 don’t tell our team! 🤫)

Between 12th–19th May, we’ll be celebrating our Nurses, Receptionists and GPs on their internationally recognised appreciation days. Ahead of these special celebrations, we’d love to hear about the positive experiences you’ve had with our amazing team. Your kind words and stories will be bundled together and shared with them on the day, to show just how valued they are and how much they mean to our community. 💙💙💙

Send your experiences in writing or a not via the feedback form on our website to the Practice Manager, or comment your stories below 👇

⏰ Please share by Friday 8th May so that we can put together a

💙 We have some planned changes within our nursing team over the next few weeks, as well as some unexpected short-term sickness. This will have a knock-on effect on appointment availability, and we appreciate that this can be frustrating at short notice. Our admin team is doing their best to ensure patients are contacted and rebooked as quickly as possible.
❗️It would really help if, should you no longer need your appointment, you cancel as soon as possible (via NHS app, website form or phone). Unfortunately, several patients do not attend their appointments each clinic, and these could be offered to others.❗️
Some of our nursing team are taking on new roles to help cover these gaps, and we’re delighted to be welcoming new team members. However, training can take time. While everyone settles into their new positions, there may be some temporary adjustments to our services. We are working on an even spread of cover across all three sites.
Please be assured that urgent appointments will continue to be prioritised, and we’re working hard to keep everything running as smoothly as possible.
Thank you for your patience and continued support as we work through these changes 💙

The roads around Keynsham / Saltford are very busy due to this incident, please allow plenty of time for your journey today.

UPDATE - the other carriageway, towards Keynsham, is in the process of being reopened too. Thank you for your patience while emergency services attended this incident.

*****

4.10pm - the A4 Keynsham Bypass has reopened Bristol-bound in the past few minutes. The other carriageway remains closed at this time.

*****

Officers are at the scene of a collision on the A4 Keynsham Bypass that happened at about 9.30am today (Monday 30 March).

The road is closed in both directions between the Hicks Gate and Bath Road roundabouts.

The bypass is expected to be closed for some time and we'd advise motorists seek an alternative route.

Keynsham Road has also been closed at the junction of High Street while emergency services respond to this incident.

MenB Vaccine Update & Advice linked to University of Kent and the area of Canterbury - we are currently receiving a high number of calls requesting Men B vaccination/advice. Please read update below before contacting the surgery:

Background
The Meningitis B vaccine has been given to children under two years of age since September 2015. UK vaccine experts advise that the MenB vaccine isn’t routinely offered to teenagers, and there is no national catch‑up programme planned. It is only offered on the NHS to people without a working spleen or those with rare complement disorders.

You should take action if any of the following apply:

✅ You visited Club Chemistry, Canterbury on 5, 6 or 7 March
✅ You had close contact with someone with confirmed or suspected meningococcal disease
✅ Students who did not access vaccination at local vaccination clinics at the University of Kent, for example, because they have returned home from campus.

If you meet these criteria please contact your GP practice — UKHSA recommends GPs provide vaccination / preventative antibiotics to eligible people who have returned home.

Know the symptoms – seek urgent help if you develop:

Sudden fever
Severe headache
Stiff neck
Rash that doesn’t fade under pressure
Vomiting or diarrhoea
Sensitivity to light
Cold hands/feet or limb pain
Confusion or drowsiness

It is important to keep routine vaccinations up to date, including the MenACWY vaccine where applicable. The full UK routine schedule is available here: Complete routine immunisation schedule from 1 January 2026 - GOV.UK
