Welcome Sara to our Pilates schedule! Sara has a deep-rooted passion for intelligent movement and body awareness. 💕 Her classes blend the precision and control of classical Pilates with a modern understanding of strength and mobility and functional core work, posture, and mindful alignment. Expect clear instruction, calm encouragement, and a steady flow of traditional Pilates moves designed to help you build strength from the inside out. 💫

IYENGAR Thursdays are back!

✍️ Iyengar is many things, but first and foremost, it is a practice of precision in body and mind. Rooted in the Eight Limbs of Yoga tradition, designed by Patanjali, Iyengar uses over 200 classical yoga asanas and 14 different styles of pranayama (breathwork) on the mat.

Postures can be held for some time with props to allow for correct alignment of the body and to move with intention, but also can be taught at a fast and dynamic pace (think lots of jumping and sequencing, while also cultivating a detailed approach to asana). Many see Iyengar Yoga as a moving meditation that encourages constant body awareness and a move towards harmony (so Ashtangis, we think you will like!). In these classes, you will learn the subtleties of correct alignment, echoing what Iyengar is known to have said:
🧘🏻‍♀️ “When stability is achieved in a pose, it’s then possible to safely intensify the depth of the posture.”

There is something beautiful about Bristol in the Spring. We’re starting to see longer stretches of daylight, which is SO welcome after Winter. We think it’s the perfect time to nourish that new energy by creating a space for yourself to land with a wind down evening ritual - caring for our nervous systems at the end of the day..
Our 8:30pm Monday to Thursday classes, and a 7.15pm Friday evening class is a mixture of Flow + Yin with a focus on our Yoga practice bridging the gap between a busy day, to positively down regulating our nervous systems for better sleep, and destressing.

Our next Yoga for Anxiety workshop is coming up in April with Emily 💕
In this workshop we use yoga and somatic practices to work together with our nervous system, in understanding regulation, curiosity and compassion. 🙏🏼

You don’t need to have a formal diagnosis of anxiety to attend — this space is for anyone who experiences anxious feelings, restlessness, or unease, and wants to explore ways of befriending that energy through yoga, breath, and gentle self-enquiry. 💫

Ashtangis! A little announcement that these 2 dates in March:
• 16 March • 23 March, are going to be Char's last 2 Monday evening 6pm classes, with the wonderful, wonderful Nell taking over after that! 💖

💌 Char: "Just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU for attending this class - it's been my class for 9+ years -- from literally the first day that Trika opened in Dec 2016! I will miss it so much, and I will miss practicing with you all on Monday evenings ALOT.

I have not taken this passing of the class on lightly - and have ensured that the teacher that takes it over is of a similar vibe, similar understanding of Ashtanga, similar pace and style of sharing the practice! So, hello Nell! 💙 Some of you have already practiced with her - she is a lovely human, her home practice is in Ashtanga; and similar to me, she blends the tradition of the Ashtanga practice with an exploratory, warm, open approach in class. And importantly - a sense of joy and fun too! 🥰 You will enjoy her classes. 🫶

• Friday mornings Mysore Style Ashtange, 7.30-8.45am!
This is listed on the main class schedule for you to be able to book 💜 A traditional, self-paced way of practicing - it is a lovely way to find personalisation in the practice, with the support of physical adjustments (if you'd like it!) that help you feel into the postures.

👉 This class is a small class- with a max of 9 people
👉 It is scheduled to run as 3 week blocks on the schedule, with a week or 2 break in between, so if you don't see it, scroll to the next Friday to see when it's on. 😊
👉 I am also still teaching on our !

➕️ There will be some Ashtanga specials in the near future, like:
• A primary series 90 minute full led class
• Ashtanga Release, where we practice Half primary, and wind down with some Yin and chanting. 🙏

The exchange would be for 2x weekly hour cleaning for 3x a week passes to our classes 🙏🏼 It would be amazingggg if you could cover these dates:

▶️ 10 March- 14 April
▶️ 15 May-17 June
▶️ Ideally Wednesdays & Fridays, 2-3pm

Hi North Street that we love so 👋🏼 Coming into Autumn always brings us some nostalgic feels.. as we approach Dec, we are always gobsmacked that it’s been another year- a fact we are constantly thankful and grateful for. 🙏🏼

This December we are approaching our 9th birthday which boggles our mind in all honesty! Where has the time gone? 😱 Forever thankful to be here 🫶🏼

Let's spend time doing things that nourish the mind, body, and community around us. We love sharing the practices that have helped us along our way, and hope you find enjoyment, kindness, peace and lots and lots of fun within it too!

We are an independent studio, bang in the middle of North Street, in the Southville / Bedminster area of Bristol. We love our city, love the community we are in, and love sharing what we do with you all!

We really simply aim to share practices that have helped us go through all the varied things in our lives, and how we have found yoga to immensely help with whatever that may be. We enjoy being able to support you in your journey with yoga, whether that may be for flexibility, strength, mindfulness, calm minds, breathing space, fun... or all of the above!

We first opened our doors on the 3rd December 2016, in the middle of Winter after 7 weeks of building work with help from our friends (endless thank yous to you guys).
