Waverley Gardens extra care aims to promote your independence, offering self-contained apartments with independent entrances and communal courtyard gardens.

With an on-site hair salon, restaurant, internet cafe, therapy room and mobile shop, alongside other facilities, our extra care housing is designed to help you live as comfortably as possible. Should you need support, you can feel comforted knowing that our on-site care team are on hand to provide assistance. Respite care is also available.

💍 After 42 years together, Valerie (73) and Patrick (78) finally said “I do” at Brunelcare’s Deerhurst Care Home in Bristol, where Patrick now lives.

The heartwarming ceremony took place on Deerhurst’s very own garden ‘beach’, with bridesmaids made up of four care staff and even a fellow resident, plus two flower girls – a true community celebration. 🌸

Patrick, a former bricklayer, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2020 and moved into Deerhurst last year. Worried his health might affect their bond, he asked Valerie to marry him – and just three weeks later, their special day became a reality. 💖

Valerie said: “I’m so happy to have married Patrick, albeit 42 years later. We had a fantastic day and we’re so grateful to the staff at Deerhurst for making it possible.”

Huge thanks to the Deerhurst team who went above and beyond to make the day magical – decorating, cooking, dressing residents, and creating memories the couple and their family will cherish forever. ✨

This is a beautiful reminder that love has no limits – and joy can thrive, even in the face of illness. 💕

🏴‍☠️ Pirates with Attitude strike again at our Deerhurst Care Home 🏴‍☠️

Deerhurst had another fantastic afternoon with the Piratitude band – sunshine, rum & raisin ice cream, and plenty of singalong shanty songs kept everyone smiling. 🎶✨ Even Alfie the dog joined in the fun! 🐾💛

🌿✨ Garden Celebration at Brunelcare's Glastonbury Care Home 2025 ✨🌿

After 3 months of hard work, 15 staff gardeners, 6 families, 8 businesses, and countless generous donations, our garden transformation is finally complete – and what a celebration it was! 💚

From rebuilding raised beds and planting new shrubs 🌱 to restoring benches, creating a new patio, and even commissioning a beautiful butterfly wood carving 🦋 – the community truly came together.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated time, plants, equipment, and funds. Special thanks to the families who gifted benches, tables, and features in memory of loved ones – creating a space filled with beauty, meaning, and joy. 💐

We couldn’t have done it without you all – here’s to many happy days in our new garden! 🌞🎶🌸

Huge thanks to Joey, Ella and Helen at Co Exist Community Kitchen for cooking up a brilliant session yesterday afternoon! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

Our crew rolled handmade pastry, whipped cream and plated up like pros 👌 From mini quiches and potato salad to a Victoria sponge fit for royalty.

The girls brought their finesse, while the boys really stepped up and took charge in the kitchen, demonstrating impressive teamwork and focus throughout. 🥧🍰👏

🇮🇳✨ Indian Independence Day at our Little Heath Care Home ✨🇮🇳

What an incredible day we had celebrating Indian Independence Day at Little Heath! 🎉

Residents were treated to the vibrant sounds of traditional Indian drummers, while our amazing staff wowed everyone with performances and dancing to share their culture. 💃🕺

Many of our residents said they had never experienced a day like it and are already asking when we can do it all again! 🥰

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff who went above and beyond to make the day so special – we are so grateful for you. ❤️

Last week, Saffron Gardens held their own Jamaica-themed event to recognise Jamaica Independence Day🇯🇲

🌻Our Glastonbury Summer Garden Party🌻

At the end of July Glastonbury Care Home Care Home held a summer garden party to celebrate the completion of their gardening project! There was a tasty BBQ on the day and free ice creams all-round, displayed on an ice cream bicycle donated by Greyman Engineering, as well as musical entertainment for everyone to enjoy🎶

The gardening project was completed in July after 3 months of hard work from 15 staff gardeners, 6 families, 8 businesses, and generous donations of plants and equipment. The refresh included new vegetable beds, bench renovations, planting of new shrubs and plants, a butterfly wood carving, and even the building of a brand-new bandstand which was used by Wells City Band for their performance at the party.

This work has completely transformed Glastonbury's garden space and they had a fantastic time celebrating its unveiling on the sunny afternoon! A huge well done to everyone who has worked on and donated to the garden to make it an enjoyable space for our residents and their families🤗

🌊✨ Something different for a Tuesday afternoon. We welcomed the fantastic “Keepers!”

Their improv performances brought our seaside stories to life, making the past feel like it was happening right in front of us. Laughter, nostalgia, and coastal charm rolled into an afternoon! 🎭💙

Wow! What a truly unforgettable day at our Caribbean-themed summer party! 🌴☀️

From the moment the music started, the whole place erupted! Laughter filling the air, the smell of delicious food drifting through the crowd and smiles everywhere you looked.

Our new tenants were busy making friends, our amazing friends from the community dove straight into the action, and together we turned the day into a rainbow of colour, energy and pure summer joy. 🌺🥥🎶💃

Thank you to every single person who brought the summer vibes you made this an afternoon we’ll be talking about for a long time!

🎉 Congratulations, Edwin! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that Edwin Jose, current Manager at Glastonbury Care Home, has been appointed as our new Head of Care Homes, starting 1st September!

Edwin brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to delivering outstanding care. Over the next few months, he’ll also remain as Registered Manager at Glastonbury to support the team through a smooth transition.

In his new role, Edwin will work closely with Sandra Payne, our Director of Nursing & Care Services, and lead the Care Home Futures project — helping shape the next chapter of our care homes.

☀️ BBQ fun at Woodland Court, our Retirement Village.

Woodland Court's annual summer BBQ brought together 35 of our lovely residents at Brunelcare’s Retirement Village in Downend. It was a perfect opportunity for new faces to meet their neighbours (and vice versa!) 🌭🍔🍢

Hot dogs, burgers, kebabs — and of course, Cornettos to finish! After all, the sun was shining — how could we resist? 😎🍦

Here’s to great food, great weather, and even better company! 💛

Woodland Court has a free open day coming up, and we would love to see you there. It's taking place on Saturday 06th September from 2pm.

🇬🇷 A Taste of Greece with a Twist! 🇬🇷

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of spending time at the incredible Co-Exist Community Kitchen a highlight in our calendar every month 💛

Together, we rolled up our sleeves and cooked up a delicious traditional Greek moussaka, paired with a fresh and zesty Greek salad, simple ingredients, bold flavours 🧅🍆🥗

And for dessert? We broke tradition just a little with an untraditional baklava that had everyone going back for seconds (and maybe thirds… we’re not judging 😄).

Massive thanks to Joey , Leonie & Thilly along with the rest of the team at the Co-Exist Community Kitchen for creating such a welcoming, inspiring space. Good food tastes even better when it’s shared ❤️

What a lovely afternoon we had yesterday at the Co-Exist Community Kitchen!

Big thanks to Joey, Eileen, and Leonie for guiding us through a hands on session that had everyone laughing, learning, and sharing some seriously good food.

On the menu:
🥖 Homemade soda bread (perfect for sandwiches!)
🧁 Light, buttery scones
🧀 Golden cheese straws that vanished almost as fast as we made them

One of the highlights? Seeing our newest tenant, Neville, dive right in, making friends as quickly as he picked up the recipes.

It’s amazing what a shared kitchen table can do. Here's to many more afternoons like this. 💛🫖

This Month at the Coexist Community Kitchen 🇨🇳

We turned up the heat and flavor with a Chinese-inspired culinary journey.

👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Our tenants made:

🥟 Shanghai-style dumplings – filled with chilli, ginger, garlic, spring onions & marinated tofu – soft, spicy, and soul-warming.

🍜 Kindling noodles – tossed with toasted walnuts, peanuts, fermented Chinese cabbage, chard, sesame oil, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

🌶️ On the side they made Homemade chilli oil & soy dipping sauce to elevate every bite.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Ella and Ayham @ Co Exist for another amazing session 😘

🎉🇬🇧 VE Day 80 – What a Celebration! 🇬🇧🎉

What a fantastic afternoon we had marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day!

We kicked things off with a good old-fashioned BBQ (yes, the banana splits went down a treat 🍌🍦) before diving into some toe-tapping 1940s fun with the amazing Cheryl Roberts, who brought the era to life with her incredible performance 🎤🎶

💌 The atmosphere turned beautifully reflective as Laura shared a touching poem, followed by the haunting sound of the Last Post and a moving minutes silence 🙏

🎟️ We wrapped up with a few cheeky encore numbers from Cheryl and a raffle that had everyone smiling (and crossing fingers for those prizes! 😉)

✨ Another brilliant afternoon together, now we say… bring on the summer party! 🕶️🌞🍹

Afternoon tea was flowing, Easter eggs were everywhere, and the amazing Lorraine Lee had us all clapping, singing, and smiling from ear to ear!

Spring has officially sprung! 🌺

We celebrated the season at the Co-Exist community kitchen! 🌸

We had a blast creating a vibrant and delicious spread: a savory kale, onion, garlic, and blue cheese tart paired with a crisp rainbow slaw and olive oil basil potatoes. And for the sweet finish we baked a batch of last-minute shortbread biscuits, infused with lavender, rose petal, orange, and more! 🍊💐

Nothing beats good food and great company!

What a fantastic time we had at Coexist Community Kitchen! A huge thank you to Joey, Ayham, and Rose for hosting such an incredible session! Your passion and warmth made the experience so special.

It was amazing to come together, roll up our sleeves, and create something we all love from scratch. The pizza was absolutely divine, and the tiramisu? Pure heaven!

Nothing beats good food, great company, and the joy of sharing a meal we made with our own hands. Can’t wait for the next one! 🍕🍰✨
