Following our training with over the weekend, we received a great testimonial from the fleet manager Stefanos Mintsis. We greatly appreciate his feedback.

"We appointed FirePro at incredibly short notice after several other service companies declined our request. Despite the tight turnaround, the impact was immediate. Neil’s delivery was exceptional; as a firefighter himself, he brought a level of hands-on knowledge that transformed our crew's performance by the final drill.
Beyond the standard requirements, Neil proactively identified operational gaps and provided practical solutions that have fundamentally changed how we perceive fire safety and real-time emergency response. We highly recommend him for any future assignments across our fleet of seagoing vessels".

Bespoke specialist training at short notice.

We had the pleasure of working with Lomar Shipping this weekend, assisting them with the ongoing development of their onboard firefighting capability.
Working with company officials and the ships' master we developed a training programme overnight, returning the following day to deliver bespoke training.

The Master, crew and specific firefighting team developed and demonstrated their skills throughout the day, showing great diligence, skill and a willingness to learn without question.

With a focus on breathing apparatus, PPE, hose management, firefighting techniques and safe movement to name a few, working with the multi-national crew was a fabulous enlightening experience, where not only they, but we learned a lot.

The MV Thames Trader will set sail from The Bristol Port Company Portbury Docks with firefighting crews who are now better prepared to protect their ship and colleagues.

We wish you a safe voyage.

NEW 2025 CPR GUIDELINES ANNOUNCED! 🇬🇧

The Resuscitation Council UK has released the 2025 CPR & First Aid Guidelines, bringing some of the biggest updates in years — all aimed at saving more lives and boosting public confidence in emergencies.

❤️ What’s new?
• CPR training from age 4–6 to build a more confident, lifesaving generation.

• Hands‑only CPR reinforced as the go‑to method for untrained bystanders — simple, effective, and easier than ever.

• Clearer guidance on recognising cardiac arrest — if someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally, start CPR immediately.

• Stronger emphasis on early defibrillation using public AEDs. Send someone to grab one as soon as cardiac arrest is suspected.

• Updated paediatric CPR, including 5 rescue breaths first and a new infant CPR technique.

These changes will roll out fully across training from January 2026, but the message is clear right now:

👉 Any CPR is better than none. Don’t hesitate — act.

If you own a business, an important question to ask yourself is, "do we have a suitable fire risk assessment in place?"

It is a legal requirement under the 'Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005' for all businesses (non domestic premises) to carry out a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment.

Unsure where to start?
We can help. Our experts with decades of experience are available, for you to give us a call on 07740 430776 or submit an enquiry via our website www.fireprorisk.co.uk for a friendly, free and non committal chat.

What are the risk of non-compliance?
Injury or loss of life.
Loss of business or revenue.
Reputational damage
Fines, enforcement notices or even imprisonment is serious cases.

Are there any other legal ramifications? YES.
The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 determines that an employer employers must:
Provide and maintain safe systems of work.
Ensure the workplace is safe and without risks to health.
Maintain safe access and egress (critical for fire evacuation).
Provide adequate information, instruction, training, and supervision.

It was so great to visit one of our clients, The Scrandit, to sample their amazing food.
It was so lovely to catch up with the owner Josh Dickinson at his hidden gem on Christmas Steps in Central Bristol.
The food this evening was cooked by their fabulous visiting chef Rachel of winklepicker.org.uk.
Go and visit them for a wonderful culinary experience and great atmosphere.
