❓Did you know❓

Studies suggest that 80% of tradespeople and over 2/3 of staff working within Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) would not be confident in the use of a fire extinguisher in an emergency.

This is why it's important have the right number of adequately trained staff depending on the size and risk of a business. Do you know how to safely use a fire extinguisher, and what different types are needed?

If the answer was no, why not consider a fire safety course with us? We offer a variety of courses, from basic fire awareness all the way up to fire marshal training.

🚨Meningitis & Sepsis🚨

We're devastated to hear the news of two deaths and several people falling seriously unwell in Kent linked with Meningitis. We wanted to share a quick, and crucial reminder of the signs and symptoms to look out for.

Meningitis is a serious infection of the membranes around the brain and spinal cord - which can affect anyone - but it is most common in babies, children, teenagers and young adults. It can lead to sepsis, becoming life-threatening very quickly.

Symptoms can include:
• Fever
• Vomiting
• Severe Headache
• Stiff Neck
• Sensitivity to light
• Drowsiness or difficulty waking
• Seizures
• A non-fading rash (when a glass is pressed against it - but a rash does not always develop)

You may not get all signs/symptoms, and they can appear in any order. If you suspect Meningitis or Sepsis, trust your gut - don't wait for all symptoms:
• Call 999/112, or go to A&E immediately
• If unsure of symptoms, call NHS 111 for advise - this will not delay ambulance care

Please stay aware and share to help spread awareness of the signs.

March is kicking off 2026's event season with a bang, hosting a range of events across Bristol and surrounding areas. With events come people, and with people come crowds.

This is why it's important to have sufficient crowd management policies in place, and adequate provision of Medics and First Aiders.

Does your First Aid Kit contain everything it may need to deal with possible injuries in your workplace or home?

'What should be in my First Aid Kit?' is a question we get asked a lot. You should know: there isn't a mandatory list of items needed in a First Aid Kit. However, the BS 8599 is a common standard to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This regulation ensures workplaces have capabilities both through trained personnel and equipment to deal with first aid incidents.
