🙌🏼 Riding the wave of gratitude 🙌🏼

It’s two weeks today since I touched down on the Heathrow tarmac, and eased myself back into real life. The past 18 months have not been without their challenges (trust me, that’s putting it lightly 😅) and standing here, on the other side of that pit of doom, I can securely say I am grateful for everything I learnt on my way through. Sure, if I had the power to change things, I would never wish to lose those I lost. However, these lessons meant I was able to treasure each moment in India, be present and feel grateful in real time; and now I’m home, I’m treasuring these moments too.

✨Life is getting exciting, and I can’t wait to share with you what’s coming next…

🌟 …but you can’t take Bristol out of the girl! 🌟

It’s been 10 days since returning from India, and what a 10 days it’s been! I’ve felt grateful for so much since coming home: the support and love from my family and friends, the generosity of strangers, the enjoyment I get from my work and the vibrant energy of the place in which I live.

I am still in awe to have been in the presence of one of the seven wonders of the modern world?! I loved learning the story of the Taj Mahal… Did you know it was built in the early- to mid-1600s as a monument to remember a great love between an Emperor and his soul mate? She, and later he, were buried beneath the immense structure in a modest tomb hidden from the public eye. The building itself is clad in white Indian marble, inlaid with precious and semi-precious stones in the shape of vibrant flowers. Visitors are not permitted to take photos inside the building, but it is deceiving Le small with an inner dome beneath the huge outer one, creating an echoing chamber of voices around the central decorative tombs. It was a surreal experience to be there, and as our group said, in all likelihood (you only Taj once)!

🤷🏻‍♀️ Who is she? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I thought I’d tell you a bit about me, the gal behind …

My name is Dani, I’m 28 years old and have been living in Bristol since I started my undergraduate degree at in 2014. I am in love with the city- honestly I don’t believe there is a better place on earth than (tagged so you can visit too!) on a sunny day. I was born and raised in small town west , which is where all my family live too.

My three truest loves are my baby angel nephew Jasper, my 13 year old precious pooch Rosie and my glorious black cat Baby. My simple pleasures are soaking up the beauty of spring blossoms, laughing until I cry at something my friend said and setting off on a Sunday morning 5K then returning home 4 hours later having meandered my way across the city.

My passion is helping people to realise how wonderful they are, by gently breaking down the negative self-perceptive beliefs that we all accumulate throughout our lives, and sometimes, if we are both lucky, providing a break-through change of perceptive which helps them see more clearly. I believe yoga is a powerful vector for this sort of change, and is the main reason I trained as a yoga teacher 🙏🏼

🌞 Allow me to reintroduce myself 🌞

Hello again, or nice to meet ya!

I’m Dani, - thanks so much for following my page! After a couple of months of sporadic posting whilst in India (will tell you all about that later!), I’m back on the wagon to update you about the next steps in my “becoming a real life yoga teacher” journey.

Right now, I’m 28 years old, living in Bristol and working as a veterinary nurse. My passion for mental, emotional and physical well-being lead me to take steps towards a career in which I can help others find peace, self-belief and relaxation in this super busy world. So far, I have gained the following certificates to help me do this…
✨ Mental Health First Aider, Level 1
✨ Yoga teacher training, 200hrs
✨ Sound healing, Level 1

I really hope you will join me in this next chapter, as I build my experience teaching yoga over the coming months!

🌞 28 days later… 🌞

And just like that, in the blink of an eye, it’s over! But it doesn’t feel like an ending, it feels like the beginning. The teachers told us at our closing ceremony that now we have been given the seed of knowledge, it’s time to go and plant it, nurture it to let it grow, then spread the fruit all around us.

My work has roots in medicine, and I have a BSc on how the mammalian body works and how to treat injury and disease. However, after this month, I have realised that yoga is the most valuable science of all- the science of the mind, body and soul.

There is so much to learn, more than I can fit into a lifetime, but as the yogis say- experiment on yourself and see.

I am filled with emotion upon finishing this course- the whole experience has been so healing for me, and I feel a part of myself has unknotted itself and relaxed for the first time in many years (maybe ever!).

It’s not enough to say I’ve met some friends for life, there are no words to describe how much I love this yoga family we have made and I feel a deep certainty that all of us were meant to meet, and will go on to achieve great things with each others support.

If there’s any doubt in your mind- this is your sign to book YTT in India 🙏🏻

♥️ My heart is so full ♥️

Practical exams completed! ✔️

Words can’t describe how proud I am of all of us. Each class I have attended in the last two days, taught by my peers, has blown me away- those who were nervous stood tall and spoke clearly, guiding us beautifully through mantra chanting, pranayama, meditation and asana sequences. Honestly, I’m so proud and my heart is so full.

This month has been tough; both mentally and physically. Many of us have been super ill at times, and even more have experienced exhaustion and exasperation.

However, despite this, we bloody well did it!! We taught a 45 minute yoga class for the first time in our lives, many of which I would pay to attend back home. Oh god, I’m so proud.

🌟 Busy busy but I’m thinking of you! 🌟

Sorry for the radio silence! Between getting ill and preparing for practical and theory exams, I haven’t had a moment to spare!

It was such a life moment to spend on the bank of the Ganga, in the yoga capital of the world.

It has been super hot here, the volume of sweat leaving my body has been UNreal. Today I woke up to rain, which was dreamy.

I hope you are all doing well!

🪷 10 days in! 🪷

I can’t believe it’s been 10 days since I arrived in this glorious country. It really is like nowhere I’ve been before- the richness of the culture, the vibrant colours, the endless buzz of people on the streets… They had me at hello!

In 10 days I have…
🪷 Spent 10.5 hours doing Hatha yoga & 12 hours doing Ashtanga
🪷 Fallen in love with Mother Ganga, the holiest river in the world
🪷 Gained a family of amazing people- fellow students & yoga school staff alike
… and so much more!

This experience is really shaping up to be better than I even imagined. It is super difficult physically and mentally- I’ve had days when my poor sore body has told me she doesn’t have what it takes. However, there is so much magic here, in the people and the place, and I realise how lucky I am to soak it all up.

🔥 Opening ceremony 🔥

On day one, we were welcomed with a fire ceremony- it was so magical and exciting, I couldn’t stop grinning the whole time.

As a part of the training, we are taught about yogic philosophy, anatomy and the theory behind certain practices like pranayama (breath work).
