🚨 BREAKING🚨 UK oil company Rockhopper has won a payout of over £210m in a secret tribunal over the Italian government's ban on offshore oil drilling. This is over 6 times what they actually invested. And now their share price is rocketing off the back of this case which will let them start drilling anew in the Falklands.
Rockhopper used the controversial Energy Charter Treaty. More and more fossil fuel firms are turning to this climate-wrecking treaty to sue, and UN climate scientists have warned it could have a chilling effect on climate action.
The UK government's current proposals for fixing this problems would let fossil fuel companies keep suing for ten more years! This would be a disaster for our planet. The UK and other countries should exit the Energy Charter Treaty together, now.
