Shiatsu Healing with Alix Thorpe

Shiatsu is a powerful healing art rooted in ancient oriental knowledge and contemporary Western psychology. Shiatsu deeply tends to tension, pain, trauma, exhaustion, & weakened systems in the body and mind. Whether the underlying cause of your symptoms is emotional or physical or both, Shiatsu tends to the root of the matter in a very deep, immediate, energy-aware way. Shiatsu works with the movement of ‘Qi’ (energy) in the energy channels of the body, using a combination of firm pressure and subtle energy work along the energy channels of the body. Shiatsu touch listens and responds deeply to your body and whole being through bringing awareness to where your energy is flowing, where it's stuck and where it's depleted. Often the struggles and longings of the soul manifest as physical and mental pain and symptoms. In tending your symptoms as part of tending the deepest aspect of your being, receiving Shiatsu can be a deeply healing experience. My intention in my Shiatsu practice is to support you both emotionally and physically in working through whatever obstacles there may be in the way of you living a truly joyful, beautiful life. Sessions take place fully clothed. Please wear comfortable clothes and eat lightly at least an hour before the session.
