A new GelDonut Datasheet is now available to download from the Gel Ovations website.
GelDonut pads are pressure-redistributing positioning supports manufactured from medical-grade silicone gel, designed to offload vulnerable areas and help reduce localised tissue loading. Their fully filled gel construction allows the pad to conform closely to anatomical contours while maintaining stability during use.

GelDonuts can be used to support and protect heads, heels, elbows and ears, helping redistribute pressure away from high-risk areas while improving comfort and positioning.

The new datasheet includes:• Clinical overview and performance• Technical specifications and sizes• Typical clinical indications• Guidance on positioning and care environments

Pressure injuries affecting the heel remain one of the most common risks associated with prolonged bed rest and patient positioning.

HeelGel Pads are anatomically contoured supports manufactured from medical-grade silicone, designed to elevate the heel, redistribute pressure, and reduce direct loading on vulnerable tissue around the heel and Achilles region.

To support clinicians when assessing suitable pressure care solutions, we have created a detailed HeelGel datasheet outlining the clinical purpose, design principles, technical specifications, and recommended care environments.

The datasheet includes:
• Product design and pressure redistribution principles
• Technical specifications and dimensions
• Suitable hospital, community, and home-care environments
• Key clinical benefits for positioning and pressure care

Today We’re Exhibiting – WHSCT Wound Link Nurse Meeting | Omagh
Gel Ovations is pleased to be exhibiting today at the WHSCT Wound Link Nurse Meeting at The Mellon Country Inn, Omagh.
Events like this are invaluable. They bring together clinicians focused on improving outcomes in wound care and pressure injury prevention - sharing best practice, discussing complex cases, and strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration.
We’re looking forward to speaking with Wound Link Nurses about the clinical challenges they’re seeing in practice and exploring how gel-based pressure redistribution solutions can support:
• Skin integrity protection• Offloading in high-risk areas• Seating and positioning optimisation• Practical solutions for community and acute settings - also ribcap head protection with style
If you’re attending today, please come and say hello — we’d be delighted to meet you. More at: https://gelovationseurope.website/explore

Clinical Product Training at Leeds Wheelchair Service
Today, our James Payne delivered a clinically focused product training session with the team at Leeds Wheelchair Service.
The session explored the practical application of gel-based support surfaces in wheelchair seating, with discussion centred on pressure distribution, postural asymmetry, shear management, and protecting vulnerable tissue in high-risk clients. The emphasis, as always, was on aligning product selection with clinical reasoning and individual patient need.
It was a valuable opportunity to engage with clinicians, share case-based discussion, and demonstrate how appropriate gel solutions can support comfort, positioning, and pressure injury risk reduction in complex seating scenarios.
We would like to sincerely thank the team at Leeds Wheelchair Service for such a warm welcome, thoughtful discussion, and professional engagement throughout the session.
Supporting clinical confidence and best practice in pressure care remains central to everything we do.

New article: Postural asymmetry in seated clients is more than a positioning issue.
Uneven sitting posture—whether due to pelvic obliquity, trunk lean, or asymmetrical weight-bearing—can significantly increase pressure injury risk and reduce sitting tolerance if left unmanaged.
In our latest pressure care blog, we explore:• The clinical risks associated with unmanaged postural asymmetry• When to correct posture versus when to accommodate it• How adjustable thickness support surfaces can help redistribute pressure safely• Why flexibility and incremental adjustment matter in complex seating cases

Why Do Pressure Injuries Increase in Winter? A Clinical Perspective
Winter is a predictable high-risk period for pressure injury development.
Reduced tissue perfusion, dry and fragile skin, increased immobility, heavier clothing, and winter system pressures all contribute to lower tissue tolerance across acute, community, and wheelchair settings.
Our latest clinical blog explores:• Why pressure injury risk increases during the winter months• What this means for Occupational Therapists, Tissue Viability Nurses, Wheelchair Services and Community OT Teams• How silicone gel pressure redistribution can support winter prevention pathways• Practical considerations for seating, positioning, microclimate management and rapid deployment during high-demand periods
