Acupuncture….
Used for centuries by traditional Chinese medicine using the meridians yin and yang to alleviate pain; brought into westernised medicine for natural analgesia without the need for drugs with side effects
Chartered Physiotherapists have been allowed to use acupuncture as an adjunct for pain relief, arthritis, chronic pains, acute pains and sports injuries for decades and is heavily regulated for safety.
The use of acupuncture promotes a chemical response from the brain to the affected area - giving release of numerous chemicals associated with healing rushing to the area
After acupuncture it’s not uncommon to feel relaxed and calm and tired afterwards and it helps to drop the blood pressure also - so after acupuncture we advise eating within 30mins, drinking plenty of water and resting if necessary
If pain is a big issue then maybe acupuncture is a new idea to try…
In our team:- Mandy, Melanie, Kate, Lizzy and Laura all do acupuncture either as a standalone treatment or as part of a recovery programme ; at the normal rates (no extra charge)
