📣 Calling all BSoM graduates and students …
Join Sarah P for this years CPD session on Trauna Sensitive Mindfulness Meditation. Live on zoom on 7th Feb.
Did you know that between 70-90% of the population has experienced trauma within their lifetime? Would you like to be able to create a safe and supportive environment that understands when a student might experience difficulties when meditating?
During this one-day session, we will look at what trauma is and how we can adapt our teaching to be more aware, so we can recognise and respond effectively.
When teaching meditation, we are often aware of our duty of care, and with the right knowledge and skills, we can offer an experience that focuses on keeping people safe, thus preventing retraumatisation.
We will start by understanding what trauma means, as well as the prevalence within society, before looking at what it means to be trauma-sensitive.
We will take a deeper dive into the nervous system and understand what can take us outside of our tolerance, so you can understand dysregulation as well as identify the symptoms.
This course will build on the fundamental teachings of the BSoM teacher training, in which we highlight the importance of offering options for your students to deliver meditation in a safe and accessible way. We will look at the framework you offer to your students both within your sessions as well as within your meditation scripts, so that you will be prepared and equipped with the right tools and techniques to create an experience in which your students can feel safe and supported.
Please note, the intention of this course is not to qualify you to work as a trauma specialist, but for you to feel more equipped and confident when working with students who may experience challenges in meditation.
Upon completion of this course day, you will receive a British School of Meditation attendance certificate.
