It’s Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month!

Have you seen any of these warning signs in a child's vision? If you have, it is crucial to book an eye test.

Children under 16 are eligible for free NHS eye tests. Young people aged 16 to 18 also qualify if they’re in full-time education. In Scotland, eye exams are free for all residents, regardless of age.

Whilst the sunshine can be great for most people, it is also important to beware of some of the risks posed to children's eye sight.

Children’s eyes are more sensitive to UV light because they have larger pupils and clearer lenses.
