February is Pet Dental Health Month 🦷🐾

Oral health remains a key component of preventative care, yet dental disease continues to be one of the most common conditions seen in companion animals. Pet Dental Health Month provides an important opportunity for practices to raise awareness around the role of good dental hygiene in supporting long-term health outcomes.

Routine dental assessments and annual veterinary examinations allow early identification of periodontal disease, pain, and infection, in turn helping to reduce the risk of more complex systemic issues affecting organs such as the heart and kidneys.

Pet health plans often include dental checks as an important part of the plan's annual or 6-month examinations.

Meet Winnie 🐾

This gorgeous black Labrador belongs to Lindsay Danby, our Business Relationship Manager.

Winnie is a true Labrador through and through. She is always ready for an adventure, highly motivated by treats, and never far from her favourite people. Whether she’s out on a long walk or enjoying some well-earned downtime, Winnie brings plenty of joy (and wagging tails) wherever she goes.

A very good girl and a much-loved member of the Pets Of PVA family 💛

That’s a wrap on VMX 2026! 🇺🇸

Last week, Andrew Carter and Gerrard Harkins represented PVA at the VMX 2026 Congress - a key event that brings together veterinary professionals, innovators, and leaders from around the world.

From conversations around the future of preventative care to insights on strengthening practice sustainability, VMX once again highlighted the passion and innovation driving our sector forward. We had the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, explore emerging trends, and share how PVA continues to support practices in delivering accessible, high-quality care.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped to chat, exchanged ideas, or shared their experiences. Events like VMX remind us how collaboration can shape the future of veterinary care.

Until next year, VMX! 👋🐾

Is your pet health plan ready to thrive in 2026?

As we move into the New Year, it’s the perfect time for practices to review the performance of their healthcare plans and ensure they’re delivering real value — for pets, clients, and the practice itself.

Drawing on our insights, here are a few practical tips to help your pet health plan succeed this year:

✅ Refresh your offering
Ensure your plans still reflect the needs of today’s clients and pets. A modern, preventative-focused plan encourages stronger compliance and healthier outcomes.

✅ Make it simple and easy to understand
Clear communication builds trust. When clients understand the value, they’re more likely to join — and stay.

✅ Review your pricing strategy
Pricing should be sustainable for the practice while still offering excellent value for clients. Regular reviews help maintain balance.

✅ Engage your team
Your practice team is your biggest advocate. Ensuring they’re confident and enthusiastic about the plan makes a measurable difference to uptake and retention.

✅ Monitor performance regularly
Consistency is key. Keeping an eye on sign-ups, renewals, and client feedback helps you make timely improvements.

✅ Talk to your Business Coach
We are here to help and can advise on the best ways to improve your plans. We can also help you grow your plan adoption

A strong pet health plan doesn’t just benefit pets — it strengthens client loyalty, supports predictable revenue, and underpins long-term practice sustainability.

January is National Walk Your Dog Month! 🐾

As we step into a new year, it’s the perfect time to reset routines - not just for us, our practices, but for pets too. Regular walks support a dog’s physical health, mental wellbeing, and strengthen the bond with their owners.

Whether it’s a brisk morning stroll, a lunchtime leg-stretch, or an evening adventure, every walk contributes to happier, healthier pets.

At PVA, we’re proud to champion preventative care and the everyday habits that keep pets thriving all year round.

Here’s to more steps, more sniffs, and more wagging tails this January!

01/01/2026

As we begin the New Year, we’ve taken time to reflect on a year marked by meaningful partnerships, continued innovation, and a shared commitment to supporting veterinary practices worldwide.

From strengthening preventative care strategies to helping practices build lasting client relationships, 2025 has reinforced the impact we can make when we work together. We’re incredibly grateful to our colleagues, clients, and partners for their trust and collaboration throughout the year.

As we look ahead to 2026, our mission remains unchanged - make preventative pet care simple, sustainable, and accessible for every practice and every pet.

We’re excited to build on the momentum of this year, deepen our partnerships, and continue delivering solutions that empower practices to provide the highest standard of care.

Here’s to a successful year ahead and to the shared progress still to come.

🚨 Do you work in an independent practice?

A cleverly crafted and well-maintained pet health plan is more than just a payment model. Pet health plans are also an excellent way to encourage owners to stay on top of their pet’s preventative care in practice. This leads to…
✅ Better care: Regular visits and preventive treatments keep on top of potential issues arising.
✅ Happier clients: Predictable costs and peace of mind strengthen loyalty.
✅ Empowered teams: Easier workflows, higher compliance, and more rewarding work.
✅ Stronger business: Consistent results, increased footfall, and measurable growth.

Our latest blog explores these points further. We look into the benefits to pets, owners, teams and business performance, as well as sharing how much of a difference a pet health plan can make to adoption rates and clinical compliance in an independent practice.

What are the main benefits of a Pet Health Plan for veterinary practices? 🐾

Listen to our Director of Marketing & Digital, Paul Hardwick, as he highlights three key benefits that pet health plans bring to practices:

✅ 1. Recurring Revenue
Regular monthly payments create a predictable, guaranteed income stream, delivering reliable recurring revenue for practices.

✅ 2. Client Retention
Health plans encourage clients to visit more frequently, helping to strengthen long-term relationships between practices and pet owners.

✅ 3. Improved Pet Care
More regular check-ups allow health issues to be identified earlier, improving treatment outcomes and overall pet wellbeing.
