Right then, the reality of what I've signed up for is starting to sink in... that tough 50-mile run along a rather unforgiving coastal path in January. Let's face it, the weather that time of year on the coast can be a proper beast! 🥶

And you know what happens when you step way outside your comfort zone? Those old familiar patterns start knocking at the door, don't they? That little voice of doubt trying to creep in. But the good news is, I see you, old patterns. I acknowledge you. And I'm choosing to let you drift on by.

I absolutely refuse to be held back by old stories. As I've shared, the longest I've ever run is 13 miles, and that was on nice, flat roads. This is going to be a whole different kettle of fish, a proper test of endurance on challenging terrain. But I truly believe the biggest hurdle will be the one between my ears.

So, the focus now is on looking after myself – mind, body, and soul – and setting realistic, achievable goals along the way. One day at a time, one step at a time. I've got this.

There are times in life when you witness someone you care about facing something so immense, so unfair, that words just seem to fall short. You desperately wish you could wave a magic wand and make it all better for them. You want to fight their battles, but you know deep down this journey, however challenging, is theirs.

What you can do, in those moments, is look within yourself and see how you can offer support.

For those who know me, you know how much my large, blended family means to me. Each person, in their unique way, enriches my life immeasurably, teaching me something new about myself every single day.

Recently, our family has received some incredibly difficult news. My stepson, Mike, has been diagnosed with cancer. It's a shockwave through all our lives, and our hearts are with him as he navigates this.

In that spirit of support, of showing up when it truly matters, something incredible is happening. Mike's friends and our family are rallying around him, stepping way outside our comfort zones to show our love and commitment. And I'm joining them in taking on a this challenge: We will be (attempting to run/walk)running the South West 50k on August 2nd. (thanks sean for organising)

This isn't my fight, but it's a way we can stand alongside Mike, offering tangible support as he faces this. If you feel moved to contribute, even a small donation to help Mike receive all the care and support he needs right now would mean the world to me and to our family.

Tired of Energy Vampires? 🧛🏻‍♀️ Maybe it's time to attract your VIBE ✨

Ever had those people around you who, on the surface, seem supportive? But then you catch those little digs, those subtle put-downs that feel more like they're coming from a place of their own insecurities than genuine care? Yeah, I know that feeling. It's like a slow energy leak.

And isn't it wild how being around the right humans just flips the switch? Suddenly, you're buzzing, you're excited, you feel seen and encouraged. You actually thrive! Then you spend time with the others, and even though you haven't changed, you start to feel… less. Worthless, even. It's a head trip.

Something I've learned (often the hard way!): don't you dare shrink yourself to fit into someone else's small box. Don't dim your incredible light because it makes someone else feel uncomfortable in the shadows.

Seriously, be unapologetically YOU. Embrace your quirks, your passions, everything that makes you, you. Because the people who are meant to be in your orbit? They'll be drawn to your authentic energy. They'll celebrate your wins and have your back when things get tough.

One thing that's been an absolute game-changer for me? My journal. It's like this incredible space to connect with myself on so many levels. It's where I can let my feelings flow, no matter how messy they arrive, without any judgement. And honestly, the insights that come from it? Endless. I've started seeing patterns in my thinking, understanding my reactions, and so much more.
Now, when people ask me how I journal, they're often surprised to hear it's not just about writing pages and pages. There are so many ways to explore your inner world through journaling – using prompts, different techniques, it's a whole adventure in self-discovery!

And that got me thinking about meditation. In meditation, we create a space to simply witness our thoughts and feelings as they arise, without getting caught up in them. It's about presence. What's amazing is how journaling can then become a powerful companion to this practice. It can help you explore the insights that gently surface during meditation, offering a tangible way to reflect and integrate them. It's not about thinking during meditation and then writing it all down, but rather allowing the stillness to bring clarity that you can then explore further in your journal.

That's why I'm so excited about what we're doing in the Beginners Meditation Club. We're gently weaving in how these two practices – journaling and meditation – can support each other on your journey.
