This Summer, Why Not Try a Digital Detox? ☀️

You don’t have to be going away to give your mind a break. Taking time off from social media – even for a short while – can help reduce stress, boost your mood, and help you feel more present in everyday life.

Here are 5 simple ways to take a break:

1. Set time limits – Use your phone’s settings to limit how long you spend on social apps each day.

2. Have phone-free zones – Make mealtimes or your bedroom a screen-free space.

3. Try a ‘scroll-free day’ – Pick one day a week to log out completely.

4. Turn off notifications – Give yourself a break from constant alerts and pings.

5. Fill the gap – Use the extra time for something that makes you feel good – a walk, a book, a chat with a friend, or even just a proper rest.

You don’t have to quit completely – just small changes can make a big difference.

Give it a go this summer – your mental health will thank you! 💛

📢 Protect Your Child – Protect Your Community 💉

Measles cases are rising in the UK – but there’s something simple and powerful we can all do to help: get vaccinated.

The MMR vaccine is a safe, proven way to protect your child from measles, mumps, and rubella – and it also helps protect others in the community who may be more vulnerable.

🌟 Missed a dose? Haven’t started yet? No problem – it’s never too late to catch up.

Why vaccination matters:
✅ Vaccines do not overload the immune system – they help strengthen it.
✅ Every vaccine is carefully tested and monitored for safety.
✅ They help stop serious illnesses from spreading.

Don’t let misinformation put your child at risk.
Measles can lead to serious complications like meningitis – but vaccination gives strong protection.

Let’s keep our kids safe, healthy, and thriving.

Extreme temperatures

This summer we’ve experienced temperatures far exceeding previous years, and it doesn’t look set to end anytime soon. Hot weather can cause health issues in the young and vulnerable, but it’s important for everyone to take a few steps to keep cool when the heat rises:

- Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day; don’t wait until you’re thirsty
- Limit alcohol intake
- If you’re going to do a physical activity, plan to do this during times of the day when it’s cooler
- Stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day
- Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun

Keep an eye on those around you for any signs of heat exhaustion.
