Jhoots! Help us to help you have the pharmacy service you deserve
Dear Patient/Westbury-On-Trym resident,
We are acutely aware of how important reliable and safe local pharmacy services are for your health and wellbeing. Unfortunately, many of you have experienced ongoing difficulties with the service provided by the on-site pharmacy, Jhoots. These include weeks of closure or no pharmacist available, delays in providing medication, poor communication, safety concerns and an overall substandard service that is affecting patients and staff alike.
We are well aware Jhoots pharmacies across the country are also reported to be performing poorly, these issues are not isolated to our site. Please be assured that we are doing all we can on behalf of our patients, and have already escalated our concerns to the highest levels, including the Integrated Care Board (ICB), the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and both our local and neighbouring MPs. However, the most powerful voices are those of patients themselves.
We strongly believe that an onsite working pharmacy is both essential and beneficial for our patients. With good parking, easy level access and close proximity to the surgery, it is ideally located. Having a pharmacy at the surgery helps us support our most vulnerable patients. It is useful for ongoing health conditions and also is particularly useful when patients consult for urgent matters needing an urgent prescription. It enables us to provide equitable access to health care.
We are therefore asking for your help and encouraging you to share your own experiences and concerns with us and with your local MP https://www.darren-jones.co.uk/contact . Your feedback is vital in highlighting the impact of these issues and in pressing for meaningful change, ensuring we have a well-functioning, safe on-site pharmacy at Westbury on Trym Surgery. Please ensure you detail the reasons an on-site pharmacy is important to you.
Together, we can push for the quality of service you deserve.
Thank you,
The Westbury-On-Trym Primary Care Centre Partners and Management team.
