Black women in the UK experience significant inequalities in cancer care and outcomes. Too often, their voices are missing from patient feedback, which means services don’t always reflect what matters most to them. We’re inviting Black women who have received cancer care in Bristol or Weston-super-Mare within the last three years to take part in small listening events this February.
These are small, supportive sessions. You don’t have to share anything you don’t want to, you’re very welcome to just listen. A Black woman with lived experience will be present, alongside a facilitator, and a cancer psychologist will be available for support if needed.

Bristol SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) has been activated in Bristol from 30/12/2025 until the morning of 02/01/2026
Anyone who is currently sleeping rough will be able to access emergency shelter from today. When SWEP is activated, we advise everyone to phone the Outreach Team on 0117 4070330 to direct them to someone sleeping rough. We also ask that you support people sleeping rough to call the team, where possible.
Their teams will be out on the street covering extra shifts during this period to offer shelter and support to anyone found rough sleeping.
A reminder that StreetLink is not an emergency service and if someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
