👉 Acupuncture’s mechanisms for treating cancer pain are thought to be similar to those for treating other painful conditions, whether the pain is categorised as acute or chronic.

✅ Chiu, H. Y., Hsieh, Y. J., & Tsai, P. S. (2017). Systematic review and meta-analysis of acupuncture to reduce cancer-related pain. European journal of cancer care, 26(2), 10.1111/ecc.12457.

🧐 36 trials and over 2200 randomised patients. They found a moderate effect size of acupuncture on cancer-related pain, and concluded that “acupuncture is effective in relieving cancer-related pain, particularly malignancy-related and surgery-induced pain.”

✅ Studies have indicated that acupuncture is a feasible and safe treatment and may successfully be used to treat cancer patients for symptom management due to the low risks associated with its use...read more on the evidence summary at www.evidencebasedacupuncture.org 👍

In acupuncture we observe the sparkle in the eyes and the ability to make eye contact.
It’s where our Shen or the Spirit of our Heart and inner vitality radiates, shines and sparkles. In Classical Chinese Medical texts this is called Shen Ming which is likened to the glow and radiance of Fire. With this sparkle comes a calm and settled Mind. When the Mind and Heart are settled we can just be, needing to do nothing but be ourselves in authenticity and influencing simply, yet far and wide. My new lockdown feline friend came to remind me of this today.
