Care UK's luxurious new care home Ladden View, in Yate provides individually tailored care in luxurious surroundings. The home offers a full range of care services, from permanent residential and dementia care to short-term respite care. Each of the bedrooms at Ladden View are beautifully furnished, individually decorated and have its own en-suite wet room. The home also has a coffee shop, cinema room and hair and beauty salon, as well as extensive gardens and outdoor spaces.

Scottish Taste Testing🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

To celebrate Burns Night on Sunday, Pollyanna hosted an afternoon taste testing session with a selection of classic Scottish sweet and savoury snacks, and tasters of Irn Bru to wash it all down with🥤🍪

From Tunnocks Caramel Wafers to Cheese Oatcakes, the residents enjoyed tucking in and sampling some traditional Scottish snacks, whilst listening to a Scottish playlist of music🎶

Taste testing is a great person-centred activity. It is a great interactive and social activity, that’s encourages conversation and social connection between residents.

As well as this, taste testing can trigger positive and nostalgic memories, which is particularly beneficial for emotional stability in residents living with dementia.

Netball Fun With Alice🏐

Another fantastic session from Alice, who runs a “Seated Netball Class” with our residents. The smiles in the photos say it all, she is brilliant😁

Alice focuses on hand-eye coordination, as well as balancing and muscle work with her class and the residents absolutely love it🏐

Sing & Smile🎶

This afternoon we had the pleasure of welcoming Emily from “The Golden Oldies” to do a session of “Sing & Smile” with our wonderful residents😊🎶

We had a fantastic afternoon, singing and dancing to some classics and even the staff popped by to join in a few songs🎶 Our chefs, kitchen assistants, housekeepers and care team accompanied Pollyanna and the residents, and as you can see by everyone’s faces, it was truly a wonderful afternoon😊

Balloons & Dancing🎈💃

Our ladies upstairs have had a day full of laughter and fun. The day started off with some seated exercise with balloons which made for a morning of utter laughter and joy, followed by an afternoon of singing and dancing like no one was watching, the best type of dancing💃

Both exercise and music is beneficial to anyone, but even more so to those living with dementia. Music improves communication and is vital for evoking powerful emotional memories, feelings and past experiences. The power of music can also reduce stress and create a calming atmosphere, decreasing negative behaviours and lowers anxiety.

Happy Hen Do, Shannon💍👰🏻

Today was our fantastic Team Leader, Shannon’s, last day before becoming Mrs Hill on Saturday💒

Pollyanna organised and hosted a surprise Hen Do for Shannon with our wonderful residents this afternoon, as a last hoorah before becoming a beautiful Bride👰🏻

We sung our hearts out, we danced the afternoon away, we played “Guess The Dress” and “Advice For The Bride”, as well as enjoying a delicious selection of sweet treats🧁💍

Shannon, we all at Ladden View, wish you and your Husband To Be, Greg, a lifetime of happiness, love and laughter as you embark on this new journey together! We can’t wait to welcome you back from your Honeymoon and hear about your magical day👰🏻💒💍🤍
