Hey beautiful people

Happy Equinox/Ostara- welcoming the return of the light with new growth and the sun rising higher in the sky.

I hope you've had some time to absorb the Vit D the sun has given to us recently.

Sending out huge thanks and gratitude to those of you that were able to make our recent Self care Session; your presence and energy was greatly appreciated, and I hope you walked away feeling the effects of gifting yourself the time and space to connect or reconnect to your beautiful self.

For those of you that weren't able to make it or have wondered what our Gatherings are all about, this is some of what we shared:

🪶Time to soften into the body with a scan and an earth meditation

🪶Self massage from the Ayurvedic tradition known as Abhiyangha

🪶Using one's own intuition to pick an oracle cards for guidance

🪶Movement and yoga to shake up stagnancy and sluggishness in the system - tapping, shaking and juicy twists to stimulate the digestive system

🪶As I'm keen to look to nature for guidance; we talked about plants that are available to us at this time of year such as dandelion leaves and flowers, nettles, wild garlic and cleavers, to name a few. Many act as tonics to cleanse and detoxify the system, boost immunity as well as being packed with lots of goodness.

🪶And keeping in the theme of Spring with it being a time of new growth, new life, new beginnings we completed an exercise which you might like to do:
'What are you looking to create or grow in your life + what 2-3 small steps you might take towards making it a reality? Let me know if you decide to do this exercise. It was lovely to hear that one of the tribe took decisive action to step away from a situation that she'd outgrown. Yay ✨🔥

I'd really love for more of you to share this experience, so if it resonates the next one will be taking place Sat 16th May 12:15-15:15 at St George Community Centre. The link is in my bio. Please do get in touch with any questions/ concerns etc. Feel free to get in touch anyway.

Big hugs and love
Lena 🪶🙏🏽🦋

✨'I am bountiful, beautiful, blissful
You are bountiful, beautiful, blissful
We are bountiful, beautiful, blissful'✨
Did you see my last post about the power of words and how they can shape our reality?
So instead of the statements we can sometimes repeat over and over about ourselves that aren't helpful, how about repeating the statement above? On repeat..
Will you show yourself a little kindness?
This week's offerings:
Weds Mid-week Yoga Re-set 6-7 pm
And a special invitation to all women - whatever your stage in life.
Our Spring self care session is happening this Sat 14th March 2-5pm at the same location.
Please check the link in my bio for more info, or or you can DM me.
Happy international women's day for yesterday. Let's keep supporting each other.
Much love
Lena 🦋xx

Something I shared during last Weds yoga practice was about mantra- Your Mantra. The words and statements we repeat about ourselves over and over- are they helpful or unhelpful?

What if instead of 'I'm not good enough' you could switch it to ' I'm enough as I am'
Or instead of 'I always mess things up', how about 'I learn and grow from my experiences' or ' I can handle challenges and I do my best'....
Does this resonate?
Let me know if you try it.
Words have power and can shape our reality.
There's a lot of mantra on my playlists which I share during my classes. Its how I like to start my day- I call it Mantra Meditation. And it completely sets me up for my day ahead. It stops me from speeding into busy mode.
How about you practice this one, maybe make it your mantra for the week? ' I am Bountiful, Blissful, Beautiful '. There's a beautiful version by Bachan Kaur and another by Sunnai.... I encourage you to have a listen, to sing along.
✨'I am Bountiful, Beautiful, Blissful' ✨ and repeat.....
It's a simple way of showing yourself some kindness. Will you?

Self care Sessions throughout the seasons: dates for your diary beautiful people.
Our spring gathering is happening soon- Sat 14th Match 2-5pm at St George CC.
I've been offering these gatherings now since May 2022, I remember the first one like it was yesterday. I experienced some anxiety around it, however I'm so glad I 'felt the fear and did it anyway' and I'm still able to share these offerings with you.
Here's a little more about what to expect:
Our Self care Sessions are a safe space for women- whatever your stage in life.
It's a space where you are welcome to come as you are.
As I take a trauma informed approach to yoga and movement, I always encourage you to listen to your body and do what feels right for you.
To be guided by what you need is something I always repeat in my weekly classes- for me, it's important you know this because it gives you choice.
The choice to move, to be still, to adapt as you need to: if an asana /posture doesn't feel right and you find it activating or triggering, simply adapt accordingly. Never feel forced to do something that doesn't feel ok for you.
It's a space that gives you time to re/connect with yourself. It's an opportunity to take a pause from the busyness of life and gift yourself time and space. Think retreat 💜
Tuning into the cycles of nature- to be guided by them through movement, what we consume and plants that grow in nature that are available to us.
My aim and desire to provide you with nourishment for body, mind and soul. And tools to support you both on and off the mat.
Expect food that is locally sourced, seasonal and organic wherever possible.
If you'd like more information please DM me your email address. Otherwise check the link in my bio for more info or to go ahead and book. Much love Lena ✨🙏🏾✨

In case you need to hear this.
So this is where I'm at, giving myself grace. Being with where I'm at in this moment.
Some days, some moments, I've bags of energy. Other times an overwhelming feeling to 'not do'. And embracing it.
Some moments call for deep rest, PJ moments, chill time; and other moments I'm filled with the buzz of creating, of doing and embracing the tasks and commitments at hand.
I encourage you to listen to what you're body needs, and allow yourself to be ok with it. Do you have a habit of 'beating yourself up' for not doing enough? How about you give yourself grace and embrace your needs? Be kind to yourself.
Wishing you an amazing week ahead, whatever it holds for you.

I wanted a to share a little something about me and my yoga journey.
I mentioned in a previous post about my experience of practising breath work and it's transformative effects, which I achieved with consistent practice.
The breathwork I talk about is:-
✨dirgha pranayama or the 3-part breath to balance and reset the body and mind
✨nadi shodhana or alternate nostril breathing which has many benefits including balancing the left and the right hemispheres of the brain, supporting relaxation and sleep
✨kapalabhati also known as shining skull has a cleansing, energising effect.
Perhaps something of what I'm saying resonates? If so, I'd love to hear your story, your experiences.... Please feel free to DM me or share here 🙏🏾

Whilst away at the Om yoga show over the weekend with my good friend, she asked me for advice regarding a friend of hers experiencing some menopause symptoms that has a huge impact on her at times.
After a short ponder about what might be helpful, I tapped into my knowledge and intuition and this is what I came up with:
🌿Ashwagandha to help reduce stress and anxiety. ( I recall my yoga teacher that I've done some training with suggesting its a really good herb for women's health)
🌿breathing exercises/Pranayama:
*dirgha pranayama or the 3-part breath to balance and reset the body and mind
*lunar breathing. When we breath through the left nostril it can instil a sense of calm
*nadi shodhana or alternate nostril breathing which has many benefits including balancing the left and the right hemispheres of the brain, supporting relaxation and sleep
****I personally can vouch for the transformative effects of breath work practice. I'll share more in another post *****
🌿nervous system regulation. One of the ways this can be achieved is by simply placing one hand on the belly and the other on the sternum/heart space. And breath. And notice 💚
🌿I also thought about the time of year and that during this period of transition season wise that feelings of anxiety, restlessness and uncertainty can arise. I thought some of the things we might put in place to help us feel rooted and grounded:-
*eating root vegetables
*walking/standing barefoot in the outdoors
*being out in nature
*and of course tree hugging! ☺👌🏾they really don't mind 🌱💚🌿
Our conversation ended with her saying, 'you're a wise woman' and you know what? I'm owing it. Because I am 💚
Often is the case that we know more than we give ourselves credit for. And if that's you? Give yourself the credit you deserve.
Perhaps this post might be helpful for someone who reads this. And of course you're welcome to get in touch for more info or suggestions 🙏🏾
PS no class tomorrow at the Spark space
