In case you need to hear this.
So this is where I'm at, giving myself grace. Being with where I'm at in this moment.
Some days, some moments, I've bags of energy. Other times an overwhelming feeling to 'not do'. And embracing it.
Some moments call for deep rest, PJ moments, chill time; and other moments I'm filled with the buzz of creating, of doing and embracing the tasks and commitments at hand.
I encourage you to listen to what you're body needs, and allow yourself to be ok with it. Do you have a habit of 'beating yourself up' for not doing enough? How about you give yourself grace and embrace your needs? Be kind to yourself.
Wishing you an amazing week ahead, whatever it holds for you.

If you're not ready to leap into action, it's ok.
We're deep in mid winter❄⛄ and perhaps with that the need to hibernate is real. Perhaps you might allow yourself to be with feelings of introspection, reflection, stillness, and allow yourself some rest time to restore and revive yourself.
I often say let's look to nature for our cues. Nature is conserving its energy. Look around you .....
✨This week I invite you join me for a mid-week yoga and movement practice Weds 6-7pm at St George Community centre.
✨Our seasonal Self care Session for women is happening soon 24/01/26 at the above venue.
✨If you frequent or work around the Centre, I'll be offering 2 classes at the Arnolfini on the 16/01/26 and 23/01/26, in conjunction with the Emma Talbot exhibition.
Sliding scale options are available for all my offerings. Check the link in my bio for more info or to go ahead and book.
***please note the 23th Jan is close to capacity***
As always, I invite you to come as you are 🙏🏾✨
Much love

I've been making medicine with tumeric- can you tell?!! Yellow-tinged fingers are always a giveaway😉
I felt a slight tickle in my throat recently, it was around the same time that I started developing a stye.
Yes, signs pointing towards the need for some rest and downtime; but also a reminder to make some medicine to support and boost the immune system.
The one to the left is a combination of root ginger and turmeric, freshly squeezed lemon and a drop of honey all blended together. I pop it in the fridge and have a tablespoon or a small shot/glassful a day.
And although my diet is plant based, I made a conscious decision to use honey as 'medicine' after experiencing its amazingly beneficial effects at a yoga festival a few years ago. I was going down with a cold and it completely cleared up after a few days. For me it has to be raw, unpasteurised, organic...the good stuff.
Also, I do believe it's about having a sense of what you need and what works for you.
The one on the right is a combination of finely chopped red onion, grated turmeric and root ginger and a tablespoon of honey. This one, I leave for a few days on a windowsill before refrigerating it. And again, a spoonful a day is good medicine ✨☺
Alternatively, use it as a chutney as some of the wonderful souls did at a previous self care session.
What's your go to to boost your immunity or to combat sickness?

Winding down my classes for the next few weeks, this time of year always feels like a natural time for me to rest, reflect and have some downtime. I look to mother nature and take my cues from her ✨we take a step closer to Winter Solstice as we approach the shortest day of the year✨
My last yoga session with the Claremont school staff called for a restful and restorative one.
Artificial candles ( h&s regulations do not permit real ones) ✨ scented oils and sweet treats of dates with almond butter topped with goji berries to engage the senses ✨ guided meditation to ease the body and mind✨
Thank you Claremont crew for being on this journey and committing to your well being. Enjoy your well deserved rest ✨
Yoga happening tomorrow 6-7pm at St George Community centre. You're welcome to join us before I pause for a few weeks ✨🌃

I wanted a to share a little something about me and my yoga journey.
I mentioned in a previous post about my experience of practising breath work and it's transformative effects, which I achieved with consistent practice.
The breathwork I talk about is:-
✨dirgha pranayama or the 3-part breath to balance and reset the body and mind
✨nadi shodhana or alternate nostril breathing which has many benefits including balancing the left and the right hemispheres of the brain, supporting relaxation and sleep
✨kapalabhati also known as shining skull has a cleansing, energising effect.
Perhaps something of what I'm saying resonates? If so, I'd love to hear your story, your experiences.... Please feel free to DM me or share here 🙏🏾

20/10/2025

Whilst away at the Om yoga show over the weekend with my good friend, she asked me for advice regarding a friend of hers experiencing some menopause symptoms that has a huge impact on her at times.
After a short ponder about what might be helpful, I tapped into my knowledge and intuition and this is what I came up with:
🌿Ashwagandha to help reduce stress and anxiety. ( I recall my yoga teacher that I've done some training with suggesting its a really good herb for women's health)
🌿breathing exercises/Pranayama:
*dirgha pranayama or the 3-part breath to balance and reset the body and mind
*lunar breathing. When we breath through the left nostril it can instil a sense of calm
*nadi shodhana or alternate nostril breathing which has many benefits including balancing the left and the right hemispheres of the brain, supporting relaxation and sleep
****I personally can vouch for the transformative effects of breath work practice. I'll share more in another post *****
🌿nervous system regulation. One of the ways this can be achieved is by simply placing one hand on the belly and the other on the sternum/heart space. And breath. And notice 💚
🌿I also thought about the time of year and that during this period of transition season wise that feelings of anxiety, restlessness and uncertainty can arise. I thought some of the things we might put in place to help us feel rooted and grounded:-
*eating root vegetables
*walking/standing barefoot in the outdoors
*being out in nature
*and of course tree hugging! ☺👌🏾they really don't mind 🌱💚🌿
Our conversation ended with her saying, 'you're a wise woman' and you know what? I'm owing it. Because I am 💚
Often is the case that we know more than we give ourselves credit for. And if that's you? Give yourself the credit you deserve.
Perhaps this post might be helpful for someone who reads this. And of course you're welcome to get in touch for more info or suggestions 🙏🏾
PS no class tomorrow at the Spark space
Weds class will be covered by Sarah
