COTSWOLDS RETREAT 2026 💫 Join .c.a.l.e and I for a long weekend of yoga, delicious food and restoration in the beautiful Cotswolds from 17th-20th April next year.

Every aspect of this weekend is designed to add value to your life and practice. With beginners classes, Mysore practice and Philosophy talks the retreat is open to all levels. Shared occupancy (double or twin) and a few single occupancy rooms are available, all have ensuite bathrooms ❤️

“I have just come back from the Ashtanga yoga retreat organised by Caroline. It was such a wonderful experience, I can’t recommend the retreat highly enough. I had been teaching myself ashtanga yoga by watching online videos, which I found really hard work. I can’t attend a local shala as I don’t have one, but Caroline has given me a true path to follow. Since returning from the retreat my practice has has a deeper sense of meaning and understanding, I am now sailing through my practice, motivated by all Caroline taught. The people I met were a delight to be with, all were such great listeners and respectful of everyone’s journeys with ashtanga yoga. I have booked on for next year, I look forward to meeting all those who have just attended and anyone I haven’t met. To anyone thinking of trying ashtanga yoga, please give it a go, it strengthens your mind and body, and gives you the tools to make the most of every day”. - retreat guest

Please contact me for more details and to book your place for next year 😊

Ashtanga Bristol. Ten years completed, eleventh year starting 💫

Somehow surviving the pandemic, AY version, our dear teacher passing 😥💔

A hundred other crises of life and of confidence.

Sharath once said ‘in the west you have a crisis for everything’ 😂 That inimitable way of getting right to the heart of it; so funny in its prescience. I think of him every day as I practice and every day as I teach. “Caroline, you can do” ❤️

Each ‘crisis’ responded to the only way I know how, the way he taught us all. Ekam inhale 💫

Ultimately it’s all practice. My own, as guided by Sharathji, created the backbone of our Shala. His blessing of Authorisation gave me courage that I knew enough to at least begin. But kind of like passing your driving test, I learned to teach by teaching. Sometimes we do things well, sometimes we mess up. But every time we fall we have to figure out a way to get back up, to try again. Because at least for now another inhale awaits.

Sharmila told me the first ten years of teaching are the hardest. Interested to see 😉. Her guidance, along with Hamish’s, has been invaluable. I sincerely thank them both 🙏🏼🤍

To all those who have taught so that I could rest or study: .c.a.l.e, , , Suzanne, and ESPECIALLY who always has my back and somehow knows when I need a break even when I don’t (or perhaps just refuse to admit it 😉) a big thank you 🙏🏼🤍

Thank you also to the students, to every single one who has walked through the Shala doors over the last decade. Each one of you has taught me something 🙏🏼

And to those who stayed: I might hold you up, but you hold me up too ❤️💫

None of us were ready. The pain is difficult to bear. I thought we had more time 💔.

You always taught me to be stronger than I thought I could possibly be and that lesson persists within this moment. I am broken but will continue as you taught us and trust that in time the healing will come ❤️‍🩹.

You blessed us continuously, loved and believed in us all fiercely, and we are blessed by the time we had with you ❤️

Thank you, Sharathji 🙏🏼 You will be remembered always 🕊️

Sending all love to Shruthi, Shraddha, Sambhav and Saraswati ❤️ we will carry his teaching and goodness onwards 💫
