Sometimes known as 'acupuncture without needles', acupressure points on the head and upper body are "tapped" to stimulate our inbuilt healing system, and has been proven to reduce anxiety by up to 40% under ten minutes! We can look at exploring limiting self beliefs we may have carried for years, and how we can tap on reducing the impact of those on our daily lives, with incredible results. Shaistu is a traditional Japanese treatment, literally translated meaning Finger pressure" Shiatsu is a safe, clothed, diagnostic form of body work, where I work with the client to support the body and mind, releasing tensions where there has been a build-up, or restoring energies where there has been depletion. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing and powerful way to address imbalances within the body, restoring vitality, calming the mind, and easing discomfort or distress

Receiving Shiatsu is a fantastic way to connect and work with what’s really going on for you, not just what’s presented on the surface. Each session is a completely individual experience for the client; Following a consultation, and using diagnostic techniques, I work to support, nourish and engage intuitively with the you; to meet you in the most appropriate way for whatever is going on in that moment.

Principles of Shiatsu 🌿

The underlying principle of Shiatsu treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body's ki, or vital energy, cannot flow freely. There can be many reasons for this; emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection or injury are among the most common.
By stimulating specific acupressure points or Ki meridians, Shiatsu aims to restore the natural flow of Ki, promoting balance and activating the body's healing abilities.

As Shiatsu Practitioners, we are trained over 3 years (and one post graduate year) to recognise how to support and empower our clients to move to a better state of well-being.

How Shiatsu works! 🌿

Shiatsu works an energy system of "Ki" or "chi" in the body, the same as with Acupuncture, but without the use of needles.
Each treatment is customized to meet the unique needs of my clients. No two sessions are alike, and I do not follow a "one-size-fits-all" approach for any specific condition or scenario. I encourage every client to share their experiences during our consultations, allowing us to collaborate on a path toward improved health and well-being.

Shiatsu is practiced by touch through clothing, to connect with the energy meridians. Using hands, or fingers, points can be pressed, meridian Ki is supported to flow, and joints or limbs can be stretched or rotated to encourage the smooth flow of Ki throughout the system, encouraging a return to equilibrium.

Help reduce anxiety with acupressure 🌿

How does this work?

This actives the body's 'calm mode', slowing your heart rate and deepens your breathing.
It lowers stress hormones and can even reduce cortisol levels, which means calmer mental state and less muscle tension.
Anxiety can cause tightening of the jaw, shoulders etc, these areas become relaxed.
The act of focusing on these pressure points can interrupt racing thoughts and ground your attention.

Shiatsu promotes deep relaxation, allowing the body to initiate its healing process.
Originating in Japan, and translating as "finger pressure", Shiatsu is a deep and powerful way to work with imbalances, difficulties or discomfort in our physical or emotional selves.

Each treatment is tailored exactly to the clients needs. No two treatments are the same, and I have no "fixed routine" for any one particular condition or situation. Each client is encouraged to share their experience through a consultation process so we can work together to support a journey to better health, and well-being.
