Avon Local Pharmaceutical Committees (Avon LPC) represents all NHS pharmacy contractors in Bristol, North Somerset, South Glos, Bath & NE Somerset. LPCs are recognised by local NHS Primary Care Organisations and are consulted on local matters affecting pharmacy contractors. There are 10,500 pharmacies in England dispensing over 960 million prescriptions each year. Every day 1.8 million people visit a pharmacy, with the average person visiting 14 times per year and 99% of patients reached their pharmacy in under 20 minutes. This is why Community Pharmacy is so important and the LPC is the voice of pharmacy across Avon.

  • Training - empowering the Avon Pharmacy teams

  • Engagement - with commissioners and external stakeholders to increase the awareness of the benefits of community pharmacy and try and expand currently commissioned services.
