🌟 Celebrating an Outstanding Achievement at Bluebird Care Oxford 🌟

We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from across the Bluebird Care network. Our colleagues at Bluebird Care Oxford have been rated ‘Outstanding’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an inspection carried out in December 2025
The service achieved:

⭐ Outstanding ratings for Caring, Well-Led and Effective (with an impressive 96% score)
⭐ Good ratings for Safe and Responsive

This marks a significant milestone for the Oxford team, who were previously rated Good at their last inspection in 2017. The latest CQC report highlights the incredible progress made, praising the service for delivering care that is flexible, person-centred, safe, effective and compassionate.

Supporting people across Oxford, including those living with dementia, complex health needs and physical disabilities, the team received consistently positive feedback from customers and their families.

Many described their Care Professionals as “like friends”, while others spoke movingly about the emotional support they received during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Inspectors noted that people using the service “consistently achieved outcomes that went beyond expectations”, including maintaining independence, preventing hospital admissions and improving emotional wellbeing. Customers also highlighted how respected, reassured and safe they felt, praising the professionalism and kindness of the team.

The report also recognised Bluebird Care Oxford’s proactive and thorough approach to care planning, regular reviews and ongoing assessment of people’s health, wellbeing and communication needs all contributing to continuous improvement and positive outcomes.

Leadership within the service was described by the CQC as “exceptional and visionary”, with colleagues sharing how supported and valued they feel.

One team member told inspectors:
“The managers genuinely care, it means a lot to us. I feel the managers are there for the right reasons.”

Reacting to the Outstanding rating, Managing Directors Peter Slough and Tim Rowland-Jones said:

“We are incredibly proud of every one of our Care Professionals and office team for the dedication, compassion and professionalism they show every day. To be recognised with an Outstanding rating is a huge achievement and reflects the consistently high standards our team works so hard to deliver.”

“The praise we receive from our customers and their families is truly rewarding, and it means so much to know the care we provide helps people feel safe, supported and valued in their own homes.”

👋 Out and about in Bristol yesterday 👋

Yesterday, our Bluebird Care Bristol team attended a local careers and support services event, with around 30 organisations coming together under one roof.

The aim of the day was to connect with individuals interested in a career in social care, share information about the work we do, and continue building awareness of the Bluebird Care brand within the community.

It was great to meet so many people, have meaningful conversations, and showcase the opportunities available within care a sector where compassion, dedication, and people truly come first.

✨ Out in the community with Jelly Drops ✨

Last week, our Bath, Bristol & North East Somerset team were out with the wonderful Peasedown Community, helping to raise awareness of Jelly Drops and the difference they can make.

🟣 What are Jelly Drops?

Jelly Drops are sugar-free hydration sweets, made from 95% water, with added electrolytes and B vitamins. They’re specially designed to help people living with dementia and others who struggle to drink enough fluids stay hydrated in a safe, enjoyable, and dignified way.

It was great to chat with the community, share information, and promote simple solutions that can make a big impact on wellbeing. 💧💙

Weather warnings are in place across the UK as Storm Goretti brings the risk of strong winds, heavy rain and wintry conditions over the next couple of days.

This is a good time to check in on loved ones, neighbours, and anyone who may be more vulnerable during severe weather. 💙

Here are a few simple things to consider:

✅ Ensure heating and lighting are working properly

✅ Check emergency supplies such as food, water and medication

✅ Keep phones charged and torches accessible

✅ Arrange or request welfare checks if needed

🧝‍♂️❄️ Elf has returned to the North Pole… ❄️🧝‍♂️

As the festive season comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back on some of Elf’s favourite memories from his time with Bluebird Care 🎄✨

From induction training and team meetings, to Christmas markets, charity events, fundraising, sing-alongs, and spreading cheer with customers and communities — Elf truly packed a lot into his visit! 💙

He reminded us that a little bit of fun, kindness, and festive magic can go a long way, especially when it’s shared together.

Thank you to all our teams and communities who welcomed Elf along the way — he’s heading back to the North Pole with a heart full of memories… and maybe a few notes for Santa too 😉🎅

Yesterday Elf travelled to Bristol with for their winning Private Client Masterclass — and he absolutely loved it! 💙

He was all work on the commute (very focused for such a tiny team member 😉)…
…but once he arrived, it was all play with Birdie — and he even made a brand-new friend! 🐦🎄
