This Christmas, we’re proud to support Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity with their Christmas Appeal.

The charity is the official partner for ten hospitals across Bristol and the South West, supporting over 15,000 NHS staff and a million patients every year. From bringing green spaces and arts into hospitals to introducing cutting‑edge technology and supporting staff wellbeing, they bring patients and families moments of joy, comfort and hope.

This festive season, they are working to ensure every patient has a gift to open on Christmas morning. We’re delighted to play a part in spreading that magic.

In October, our colleague Debbie took on a charity challenge with determination and heart, walking an amazing 44 miles and raising £359 in support of the fund.

Her fundraising efforts will contribute to the vital work being done to support those affected by bowel cancer and to fund life-saving research.

We’re really proud of Debbie for going the extra mile and making a real difference. 💜

🚶‍♀️ Debbie Poole, our brilliant Service Administrator, is walking 44 miles this October in memory of her mum and sister, and in honour of Dame Deborah James, who would have been 44 this month.

Debbie is completing most of her miles in the countryside near our office in South Gloucestershire, raising funds for the Bowelbabe Fund and helping continue this life-changing work.

As a company that works in the field of pelvic health, we know how vital it is to encourage open conversations about bowel well-being. Dame Deborah’s legacy lives on through her bold message: “Check Your Poo!” a reminder that awareness and early action can save lives.

Healthcare meets horticulture 🤝 And we couldn’t be prouder.

Last month, we had the pleasure of contributing to the Cromhall Flower Show, a vibrant celebration of creativity and community. While our day-to-day work revolves around distributing medical devices that support health and wellbeing, we believe social value is just as vital.

This past year, we’ve supported the refurbishment of the local village hall and continue to sponsor Mangotsfield Football Club. Whether it’s cheering from the sidelines, lending a hand at local events, or helping good things grow, we’re proud to be part of what makes our community in South Gloucestershire thrive.

Last week was all about connection, collaboration, and celebration. Our annual sales meeting brought teams together to reflect on our achievements and gear up for an exciting year ahead.

The sales meeting was packed with ideas, focusing on strategic plans for the year ahead. Key highlights included updates on our innovative bladder scanner technology, our new anorectal manometry and biofeedback device, Anisys GO, and the continued growth of our Learning Academy.

We also took a big step toward sustainability with the delivery of three new electric vehicles for our Business Development Executives 🚗⚡

The week wrapped up with a fantastic evening at Thornbury Golf Club, complete with music, dancing, and DJ Darren keeping the party going! Huge thanks to Lyn and Jo-Anna for making it all happen so seamlessly.

We're proud to be accelerating our sustainability efforts by transitioning our sales team to electric vehicles. Our newest team members will be the first to hit the road in the all-new Kia EV3s, a bold step toward reducing our carbon footprint.

At the helm of this initiative is our Managing Director, Lyn de Smit, who continues to lead the charge on our commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, in alignment with the NHS Net Zero target.

🌍 Business travel remains one of our largest sources of emissions. We're making meaningful progress toward a greener future by prioritising EVs and rail travel where possible.

🎉 Celebrating Helen and 9 Incredible Years! 🎉
After 9 years of dedication and hard work, we’re both proud and a little emotional to announce that Helen is retiring from de Smit Medical.
From day one, she brought her warm spirit to everything she did. We’ll miss her hugely, but we know she has a bucket list of adventures she’ll be busy ticking off.

💚 What a Day! 💚
We had a fantastic time raising awareness and funds for the Mental Health Foundation as part of our ongoing support beyond Mental Health Awareness Week.
From green outfits to delicious bakes, the energy and enthusiasm across the company were incredible. Thanks to everyone who took part, we were able to raise £162.53 for a cause that truly matters. Every contribution helps support mental health initiatives and makes a real difference.
