Last week was all about connection, collaboration, and celebration. Our annual sales meeting brought teams together to reflect on our achievements and gear up for an exciting year ahead.

The sales meeting was packed with ideas, focusing on strategic plans for the year ahead. Key highlights included updates on our innovative bladder scanner technology, our new anorectal manometry and biofeedback device, Anisys GO, and the continued growth of our Learning Academy.

We also took a big step toward sustainability with the delivery of three new electric vehicles for our Business Development Executives 🚗⚡

The week wrapped up with a fantastic evening at Thornbury Golf Club, complete with music, dancing, and DJ Darren keeping the party going! Huge thanks to Lyn and Jo-Anna for making it all happen so seamlessly.
Here’s to another year of growth, innovation, and teamwork 💙

🚗 Driving change: our journey to net zero

We're proud to be accelerating our sustainability efforts by transitioning our sales team to electric vehicles. Our newest team members will be the first to hit the road in the all-new Kia EV3s, a bold step toward reducing our carbon footprint.

At the helm of this initiative is our Managing Director, Lyn de Smit, who continues to lead the charge on our commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, in alignment with the NHS Net Zero target.

🌍 Business travel remains one of our largest sources of emissions. We're making meaningful progress toward a greener future by prioritising EVs and rail travel where possible.

💚 What a Day! 💚
We had a fantastic time raising awareness and funds for the Mental Health Foundation as part of our ongoing support beyond Mental Health Awareness Week.
From green outfits to delicious bakes, the energy and enthusiasm across the company were incredible. Thanks to everyone who took part, we were able to raise £162.53 for a cause that truly matters. Every contribution helps support mental health initiatives and makes a real difference.

We captured some great moments throughout the day, thank you to everyone who joined in the fun.

On the 9th and 10th of October, 10 delegates from around the UK visited our Training Suite in South Gloucestershire for the one-and-a-half-day Female Pelvic Floor Course. One lady even came all the way from Abu Dhabi!

This course provides both a classroom and a clinical environment to enable participants to understand the theory supporting the assessment of female pelvic floor muscle dysfunction in relation to bladder problems and to gain practical experience in the clinical vaginal assessment of the anterior pelvic floor muscle function via an abdominal and vaginal examination.

Many of their colleagues had recommended our course to them, and they had fantastic reviews to share with us:

- ‘Julia was an excellent teacher; she is clearly very knowledgeable and delivers information very well. It was a pleasure listening to her.’

- ‘The course was amazing! Very informative and helpful, Julia is fantastic!’

- ‘Informative and up-to-date.’

- ‘Excellent course, I have learnt so much!’

Thank you to those who attended our course; it’s great to hear all the positive feedback after a successful couple of days. To learn about our range of clinical training courses and upcoming course dates, visit our shop.

Over the last few months, our technical training tutor, Dr Kenneth Pereira, has been busy visiting several hospitals to teach our bladder scanner maintenance course. Dr Kenneth Pereira is a brilliant trainer with years of experience teaching electronics, biomedical engineering and electrical safety testing. Our delegates have praised Dr Kenneth Pereira for his “excellent knowledge and keeping the entire class consistently engaged.” Since June, Kenneth has taught 42 delegates across 5 hospitals in Lancaster, Grantham, Grimsby and London.

During this one-day course, you will learn how to perform a functional test, disassembly/reassembly, troubleshooting, calibration, validation and electrical safety test on a bladder scanner through practical and theoretical parts of the course. Learning these principles helps to keep costs down by keeping repairs and servicing in-house, which will minimise overall lifetime costs. For our courses, we have two training options; we can carry out the technical training in-house at our training suite or on-site in your department.

The recent training course for GE Healthcare’s EBME team, supporting Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London, was attended by 18 delegates, following their purchase of 28 BioCon-1100 scanners. One delegate thought it was “one of the best training courses in my career” and that “Dr Kenneth was outstanding in delivering the technical and theoretical aspects of this course.” Many delegates consistently comment on how Kenneth is “so passionate and knowledgeable” when teaching his courses and how he “makes complicated ideas easy to understand.”

Dr Kenneth Pereira and our new technical trainer, Simon Butler, ran the most recent in-house training course at our training suite. Simon has many years of experience working as a biomedical engineer within the NHS and has been involved in the delivery of apprentice training programmes. It was a successful training session, a delegate commented, “the attention paid by both the trainers was excellent; they ensured I was following and understanding before moving on.”

We have thoroughly enjoyed training and meeting all 42 delegates and their EBME departments; thank you to all those who attended. It’s been great to hear all your fantastic feedback about our course and trainers and how you “would recommend it in the future.” If you would like to find out about our other technical training courses, please visit our website.
