10 Days of 5ks October Challenge - CANCER RESEARCH UK.

2 days after my last run my left knee swelled; a change of plan needed, the knee took a week to get settled again; I’ve been forced to adapt the challenge so I’ve substituted 5K ROWS for the 5K RUNS, less joint loading forces but still plenty to do with October fast disappearing so TODAY I have taken on 5 x 5K ROWS in one day - I’ve run this distance before but I’ve never rowed this far so a significant effort needed to finish this challenge. DONE! 10 x 5Ks COMPLETED!

If you can spare a little, even £5 helps this important cause in the battle against cancer (giving link in the comments).

Many thanks & blessings to those who have given already.

My 4th run for the Cancer Research UK October Challenge. Another ‘Japanese Slow Jog’ today as my knees aren’t so happy, less joint loading forces and proposed longevity benefits if you do enough of it (!). Interspersed with 6 sets of press ups today for some variety.

‘Noko noko pace’ means smile pace.

Please give something if you can, even £5 helps. Link to my giving page in the comments.

Many of us have or will be affected by cancer (of which there are over 200 types).

I’m undertaking the Cancer Research UK October Fundraising Challenge of doing 10 Days of 5K runs. I’ve not run for 3 months before today so it feels like a challenge! My knees may not thank me but I will thank you 🙏

Please give something if you can.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m going to be taking on the 10 Days of 5k Challenge this October to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please show your support and help fund life-saving research by donating to my page.

Good time, tough trail. 7 stages of The Cambrian Way. Tarp under the stars. Walking in storms. River Crossings. Over-grown Trails. Fallen Trees blocking forests. Mammoth effort. Not for the beginner or untrained. This is mountain connoisseur’s trail!

I’ve walked the Drakensberg, the Inca Trail, Wainwrights C2C National Trail, the 3 Peaks National Challenge…. This was the toughest trail I’ve had. Big miles every day, big challenges, tough trails, tough weather, great company, plenty of laughs. The trail broke us.

Today is International Womens Day.

There are many aspects to this. The work is ongoing in a still uneven world.

Here’s a contrasting shout out of respect to women grafters - from today’s Hollywood A listers & their under-recognised stuntwoman to yesteryear’s ‘working class’ hard grafting Fisherwomen of the North Yorkshire coast - tough women who grafted long hours on shore to make a living.

🫡 Respect always & admiration. The journey for a fairer world goes on ✊ ❤️

It’s National Engineers Week 2025.

Here’s a humorous shout out to any of my clients who are Engineers. I don’t know if there is any truth in this meme (borrowed from an Engineers social media 🫵🤷‍♂️)
