Slow & steady ❤️
Is my preference, moving with intention, focus and care. Maybe it's my aging body leading the way or the wish to slow life down a little. Of course there's always a place for letting go and moving with flow & a little more speed. It's the mix that makes it work..in my opinion.
How about for you?

The trapezius muscles getting a bit of attention.
The trapezius muscle is a large, flat, triangular muscle located on the back of the neck and upper back. It plays a crucial role in shoulder and neck movement, as well as maintaining posture. It's where lots of us experience tension and discomfort.
Massage helps by Interfering with pain pathways and stimulating sensory receptors, sending signals to the brain that can reduce the perception of pain. The relaxation response also enables the softening of connective tissue which creates a better environment for blood flow, improving circulation to the muscle, delivering oxygen and nutrients for faster healing.
It also feels amazing. ❤️

I like to feel sequences in my body before I teach, committing them to muscle memory, always with the caveat of adapting to suit those in my class. I can't use notes, having really terrible eye sight means I can't read them during a class!! ☺️so I rely on my body to remember and my heart and intuition to lead.
Sometimes it flows beautifully sometimes it doesn't...just like life. The secret is to keep going, to keep moving, to keep being present.
I'm loving teaching again, after a break from teaching dance for many years and although it's a different form the essence is the same, for me it's about sharing and witnessing joy in people. ❤️
🧘♀️ Rooted in movement, guided by intuition, led by the heart

Therapeutic massage.❤️
I work using slow, nurturing strokes which trigger the parasympathetic nervous system helping to restore balance, help you feel relaxed and calm.
The relaxation response is the state in which the heart rate slows and blood pressure goes down. The production of stress hormones also decrease as feel good hormones are released. Feel good hormones such as endorphins, serotonin and dopamine positively affect emotions and promote calm and relaxation.
If you need time away from the stresses of life, time to pause and reset I'm here to offer you that space, no judgment. Come as you are.
It's a mix of gentle movement, yin and restorative yoga, with yoga massage and a lovely long savasana. Everyone is invited to stay on after the session for tea and a homemade sweet treat. (everyone does ☺️)
It's so special guiding people to let go, relax and rest deeply. Thank you to all that have attended over the past 9 months I am truly grateful. Grateful also to for hosting this session (and all my yoga classes) at the Move More Fitness studio, it's a real gem in the Hotwells neighbourhood 🙏
Next session Sunday 17th August booking in bio ❤️

I am an experienced massage therapist offering remedial, sports, deep tissue, holistic and pregnancy massage in Bristol.
If you are suffering from nagging pain, injury or feeling stressed I can help you feel better. I can treat specific injuries, including sports injuries, repetitive strains and work-related problems. Or if you just want time to relax and unwind I can do that too.
Massage therapy works deep in the muscles, realigning the muscle fibres and connective tissue helping to increase vascularisation, which in turn facilitates the body’s natural healing process. Treatment offers a profound level of relaxation, both physical and mental.
Massage can be used to treat a range of conditions. If any of the following relate to you massage can help:
Muscular pains | Aching, stiff joints | An injury that’s not getting better |Stress | A medical condition that would benefit from massage
Appointments available Monday | Tuesday | Saturday in Hotwells
Appointments available Friday in Old Market
I began my career as a dancer, studying contemporary dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, until I had to give up the dream of becoming a professional dancer due to injury. I retrained as a theatre designer and later as an arts manager. I have worked in the dance sector for many years co-founding two dance companies along the way.
I am a cyclist, washboard player and keen hill walker. I two have two dogs and two children. I am married to a musician.
I am a graduate of the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork, the leading massage training college in the South West . I am a member of the Massage Training Institute..
Many of the people I have treated are keen sports people, musicians and dancers. Because they are passionate about what they do they continue playing and performing even though it hurts until they have a chronic over-use injury.
I can help speed recovery from specific traumas such as muscle strains and sprains. I can also help with overuse injuries whether they are from sport or day-to-day life.
