Touch is a basic human need, and nurturing touch is fundamental to our wellbeing. I’m here to help you reconnect, discover and enjoy being relaxed and comfortable in your body. I give bodywork session sessions in Ayur Yogic Massage and Reiki. As an experienced bodywork practitioner, dancer and teacher in the Somatic Arts, I’d like to offer to you my wisdom, care and love of the body through my work
To me, life is a 3 (or 4) dimensional experience, which I work, dance and play in. I am a healer, a dancer and a mama. If you are looking to receive a bodywork session, you can find out more by going to my website www.movingmassagebristol.co.uk
My work is based in Clifton, Bristol. Ayur Yogic massage is the combination of Ayurveda (a Hindu traditional system of medicine native to India and an alternative form of medicine) and Yoga. This method was originally developed by Master Kusum Modak, in Pune, India. It is a strong and deep massage that includes yoga stretches to help lengthen and unwind the body. I give the massage with my hands and feet. Deep massage techniques warm the body, releasing tension and waking up the blood and lymph circulation. As the body warms up, the yoga stretches mobilise and open the joints, releasing tension held in the muscles. The stretches are chosen to support the condition and needs of the receiver. This treatment is very good for tired or tight muscles. Ayur Yogic massage is given on a futon, on the floor. I use warm sesame oil and calamus bark powder (botanical name Acoris Calamus, Araceae). The sesame oil is nourishing and detoxifying for the skin. The calamus powder is a powerful cleansing herb; it is also antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and exfoliating. Massaging with the oil and powder together creates a scrub, which is stimulating and good for blood circulation. The meaning of the word “Reiki “ is universal life energy (Rei is Universal and Ki is Life Energy). Life energy is the vital force that flows through all matter. It can be activated as a form of spiritual and emotional healing. It can also be a powerful tool for personal transformation and growth.
