So chuffed for Jax, Dave and Stu all doing really well at the Bristol half.
Jax hadn’t ever ran before this year and decided to give distance a go, completing her first 1/2 marathon in May!
Stu had a great day and finished with no pain feeling like he could have gone further.
Dave hit his target and had a great day out.

It’s been a pleasure supporting you all on this journey!

Shelby ran her first 1/2 Marathon having started running in January!
A few ni**les along the way but with a training programme and her discipline she did achieved what she hoped to!

I spend my working day using my hands, forearms, thumbs, and bodyweight to help people move better and feel better. It’s physical work. Repetitive, loaded, and demanding — especially across a full day of sessions.

If I don’t look after myself, I can’t do my job properly. It’s that simple.

Here’s what that actually looks like for me:
I strength train regularly The research on therapist longevity in manual work is clear — upper body and postural strength directly affects how long you can practice without breaking down. I train because my career depends on it and it helps me feel sane- ish! 🤪

I move in different ways I run, swim, cycle, and practice capoeira. Variety is how I keep my body adaptable and resilient. One repetitive pattern — even a good one — creates its own imbalances over time.

I get bodywork myself I know better than anyone that you can’t feel what you can’t feel in your own body. Regular treatment keeps me honest about what’s actually going on in my own tissue.

I take recovery seriously Sleep, food, time outside. Not optional extras — non-negotiables.

I ask my clients to invest in their bodies. I’d feel a fraud if I wasn’t doing the same.

If you’ve ever wondered how many sessions you’ll need, this will help.

I get asked this a lot. And the honest answer is — it depends.

Acute issues — one to three sessions Something that flared up recently often responds quickly, especially alongside simple movement work.

Chronic pain — four to six as a starting point Long-standing pain involves nervous system adaptation, not just tissue. Lorimer Moseley’s pain research shows that recalibrating that takes time. Progress isn’t always linear either — some people feel worse before they feel better. That’s normal.

Injury recovery — case by case A sprain or muscle tear follows a biological timeline. Tissue moves through inflammatory, proliferative, and remodelling phases — each needing different input. Rushing it usually sets it back. Hands-on work typically begins once the acute phase settles, then continues across several weeks depending on severity.

What happens between sessions matters as much as the session itself Sleep, movement habits, stress, hydration — these all affect how quickly things shift. A session creates the opportunity. What you do after determines how much sticks.

No two people are the same — which is why every first session starts with a proper assessment.”

Five signs your body is trying to tell you something —
First. You wake up stiff and it takes a while to get going. That’s not just age. That’s your body asking for more movement and better recovery.
Second. One side feels different to the other. Tighter, weaker, less mobile. That asymmetry is information. Don’t ignore it.
Third. You get a recurring ni**le in the same spot. It goes away, comes back, goes away, comes back. That’s your body showing you something that hasn’t been addressed yet.
Fourth. You’re tired in a way that sleep doesn’t fix. Chronic muscle tension and pain can quietly drain your energy.
Fifth. You’ve started moving around things. Avoiding certain positions, modifying exercises, sitting differently. Your body is adapting, over long periods these patterns can be harder to undo.
These signals aren’t emergencies,
but the longer you leave them, the louder they get.
any of these resonate with you? Let me know in comments...
