How does it affect our health, and who received the Nobel Prize for discovering this process so crucial to the body’s functioning? Read below 🤗 🌿

✨ Let’s begin:
In 2016, Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi was awarded the Nobel Prize for explaining how autophagy works — a natural cellular “clean-up” process.
Simply put: when the body has a break from eating or experiences mild metabolic stress, cells activate a recycling mechanism that breaks down damaged proteins and worn-out cellular components. It’s a kind of internal housekeeping.
