Yoga Loft Bristol is an independent yoga studio located just off Queen Square in Bristol City Centre, in the loft of the Osteopaths practice. Iyengar yoga is known for it accessibility and attention to technique in order to help you achieve alignment in poses - regardless of your flexibility. A wide range of poses are used to enhance strength, stamina, flexibility and stability to the whole body. These general classes are suitable for all levels of experience as poses can be adapted for individuals. Restorative poses are regularly incorporated into the classes. Social distancing is maintained as well as Covid guidelines.

*This is a good read...*
Those of you that have been practising yoga with me for a while, will have heard me talk a lot about the importance of posture (how we hold ourselves in space, how we take up space, how we move within space) for better emotional and physical well-being. This article explains brilliantly why it's so important.
How can we change the mind by changing the body? How can we make a different person by changing the structure of the body? How can we make different physiology by releasing tension patterns in the soft tissues, which in turn changes how the body is held in space? These are the questions Tom Myers has dedicated his life to exploring.
Professions like osteopathy, chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic coaches, and yoga teachers are all working within this realm. They are looking at how the body is held in space and how misalignment and maladaptation of our structural shape causes numerous health issues, both physical, mental and emotional.

Join me every Monday lunchtime (12-1) at The Yoga Loft, where we explore using gravity, breath, postures and movement to undo tension and unwanted habits in the body, working towards a stronger, more resilient body and mind.

Our yoga practice is a 'work in' not a 'work out'. What are we looking for when we strive for a pose? Validation? Praise? Admiration? Often we are only left with feelings of inadequacy, disappointment, frustration, and in the worst circumstances we are left with an injury. Hey all! My Yoga Classes return this Monday coming. Take a break from your day and join us every Monday lunchtime, 12-1pm. Everybody welcome!
Working slowly and sensitively we'll be exploring connections in our body, and with the ground and breath, to help the body release and open for us, giving more space for both body and mind.
We will find ways to move and strengthen without straining, enabling us to move in a sustainable way and with an ease and grace towards each Asana.
