🌱I’m so excited to be sprouting again! Sprouting my way to optimal health!

🌱Mung beans are incredibly easy to sprout and are 20 % protein plus containing calcium,iron, magnesium, potassium vitamins A,Cand E, riboflavin and niacin and plenty of antioxidants.

🌱In addition they contain three types of plant estrogen: isoflavones, coumesterol and lignans and lots of fibre. So yes, these phytoestrogens can help balance out hormone levels along with other amazing sprouts like red clover, alfalfa, or broccoli.

🌱They just need soaking overnight then you can literally put them in anything from a sieve to a sprouting bag or tray. They need rinsing and draining twice a day and voila they are ready after about three days. Then a final rinse and in the fridge where they’ll last about a week.

🌱Sprouting makes seeds and beans far more digestible and vastly increases the nutritional content.

I have organised another fundraiser.

Please join us this Saturday to share in community, song and prayer. 🙏🙏🙏
And to raise funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians.

We need an end to this madness. 8 months of killing and destruction will not bring peace or security to anyone.

And let us think of the children.

I pray for the awakening of people’s hearts and an end to the dehumanisation that has allowed so many tens of thousands of Palestinians to be killed and starved to death with no end in sight.

Spring Tonic- ENERGY BOOSTER (eat these wonderful gifts of nature regularly!)

🌷Spring is here- and it’s a cold and soggy one!

🌷Still a great time to go out foraging for nettles and cleavers to add to soups or to make tea or even a smoothie like this!

🌷 CLEAVERS are great for cleaning out the body through the lymphatic system which helps to move waste out of the cells. Good for relieving oedema/swelling as it is a diuretic and promotes flow of lymph.

🌷 All this clearing out will be reflected in beautiful skin!

🌷They are a great liver and adrenal tonic especial when taken fresh i.e juiced or in a smoothie or salad.

🌿 NETTLES, though considered by many a w**d, are one of nature’s superfoods! Oh yes! ( careful when picking and take the young tips of the plant)

🌿 Rich in minerals and vitamins they are a ready packaged natural supplement! Eat them as an everyday nourisher!

🌿High in vitamin C when eaten raw

🌿 They are considered a blood tonic and are great for anaemia ( iron and chlorophyll content)

🌿 They also help clear the blood of urates and toxins and are an overall health tonic. ( great kidney and adrenal ally)

✨This smoothie has banana, berries (full of phytonutrients) nettles, cleavers, linseeds (phytoestrogenic and great source of soluble fibre) almond milk, 1 TB maca powder( great for hormonal health), tahini - but you can be totally creative with it!

( important to include protein and fat such as nuts, seeds, oils or avocado if you want it to be a blood sugar balancing food)

👉🏼These are what I call the FIVE pillars to good hormonal health.
🍁 Menstrual cycle awareness:
A powerful practise of tracking your menstrual cycle so that you can work with and not against it and you are able to harness the power and wisdom inherent in it. ( See’Wild Power’ by Alexandra Pope & Seanie Wurlitzer)
🍁Liver:
This is where our toxins and hormones are detoxified and packaged up for efficient removal from the body. If this isn’t functioning properly we can experience symptoms of imbalance. Check out my blog on ‘estrogen dominance’.
🍁Blood sugar balance:
Blood sugar balance is key to keeping our energy and moods stable. When out of balance we end up releasing more cortisol ( stress hormone) which can impact progesterone levels and also affect thyroid function. 🍁 Healthy gut micro biome: The gut bacteria when out of balance can result in oestrogens being unpackaged and sent back into circulation which can cause hormonal issues. Also very important to have regular bowel movements for similar reasons.
🍁Stress: adversely impacts on all bodily systems. It can dial down thyroid function and can divert resources ( ie cholesterol) away from hormone synthesis. 🍁Much more on this on my website see link in bio 👆.

Holistic/Deep Tissue/Intuitive Massage and Shiatsu on offer as well as nutritional therapy.

As we slowly move from late summer into Autumn, we can start to feel the winds of change in the air.

It is time to harvest all of the fruits of our labour during the busy spring and summer months and to pause, slow down, nourish ourselves and prepare for the next phase.

Bodywork is a fantastic way of reconnecting viscerally to ourselves and resting and recharging in a deep way. There are so many benefits including increased mobility, circulation, release of physical and emotional tension and release of oxytocin and other feel good hormones.
