Well done to everyone that took part in today it was a great event and beautiful medal as always.

It didn't go completely to plan and the hill got me again 🙄 I see some hill sprints being added to my training very soon 😬 but overall I'm pretty pleased with my result I was aiming for 50 minutes and came in at 51:11 a total of 4:23 faster than last year race 2/7 complete let's see how my first half goes in July.

By age 30 most men and women will never sprint again an absolutely crazy statistic.

Essentially as we get older we lose the ability to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone and opt for things that keep us in our safety bubble.

I'm by no means a runner but I'll give anything a go even if I'm terrible at it I know I will learn something from the experience.

If you want to get better at anything you have to put yourself out there and be prepared to fail pick yourself back up and try again. Each time you do this you will improve either the skill or your knowledge of it.

If you're not failing you're not learning!

I have recently started a 5-10k improvers run club in Hengrove South Bristol that's focused on getting better at the basics and feeling confident with running.

For those who don't know I have worked in exercise referral (a GP and physiotherapy referral scheme via the NHS) for a number of years now. The focus of this is get create a supported environment for people to exercise alongside various health conditions.

The main areas I have qualifications, interest and knowledge in are listed below:

Phase 4 cardiac rehabilitation including high blood pressure.

Postural stability & falls prevention for older adults.

Cancer Prehabilitation/Rehabilition - effective exercise pre-treatment and post treatment.

Arthritis management in the knees, hips & lower back.

Come to my new class every Monday morning 09:45-10:30 where we will focus on helping you manage your condition/s and build an exercise routine alongside advice and guidance to improve your overall health.

If you don't have any of these conditions but simply have a reduced fitness level and want to improve your strength, health and understanding of how to exercise safely and effectively then this could also be for you!

I have space for 4 individuals to join and I'm offering a free consultation to discuss your current position to see how I might be able to help support your goals.

Are you trying to make positive lifestyle change but seem to struggle making these changes stick?

The chances are you’ve been using the same approach you've always used.

As the saying goes you can’t expect different results from the same practices.

Sometimes you need to switch the game up and try a different approach. Step outside your comfort zone try something new and at the very least you will learn something 😉

Oh, what a year it’s been so far!

I wasn’t planning on having surgery this year, but sometimes you don’t get what you want!

Despite using tools my entire life, you wouldn’t believe that I managed to cut my thumb with a hand saw back in February, which required plastic surgery to repair the damaged extensor tendon. 😕

This has been the longest period I’ve gone without being able to lift free weights (6 weeks) and what a long 6 weeks it’s been. I still have another 6 weeks before I can start to load my wrist and use my thumb without the risk of further injury.

Running has become my primary form of exercise, and as I have 7 races to complete, one per month starting in May. It's actually a good time to focus on my running!

My tendon is healing really well, as you can see from the pictures. It was pretty messy at the beginning, but hopefully I’ll be able to start physiotherapy in the next couple of weeks to get it moving again. 😃

P.s big shout out to all my clients for being patient with me during the past 6 weeks.
Most importantly a big thanks to my no1 supporter, carer chauffeur that's had to put up with all of my moaning while helping me with all of the things that require two thumbs 😘

I have space for 7 more individuals to join me for 12 weeks of consistent programming & training.

You will have access to my detailed training plan complete with training videos & detailed coaching pointers. Your reps and sets will be fully trackable to ensure you are always making progress and developing your skills.

You will learn how to lift correctly, move better and become fitter and stronger as a result.
