What a wonderful day we have had celebrating St George’s day! We had a game of Slay the Dragon this morning, a very tasty good old English Shepherds pie for lunch and this afternoon enjoyed the delights of our ice cream trolley….which went down a treat on such a warm sunny day!

This afternoon we enjoyed a wonderful Easter arts & crafts session with a group of our lovely residents 🐣🌸

We got creative making hanging wooden Easter eggs, while a few residents chose to design their own beautiful Easter cards. It was fantastic to see everyone’s creativity shining through!

We’re also very proud to have decorated the tree in our dining room, which is now on display for everyone to admire 💛🌼

A busy and joyful day here at Bridge House today! 💚
This morning we had a lovely visit from Flourish Dance and Wellbeing, where Lauren brought along a wonderful St Patrick’s Day themed session. The residents absolutely loved the music and had a great time getting involved in a sing-along. 🎶☘️
This afternoon we got creative and made our own initials using buttons. Everyone showed such creativity and the finished pieces looked fantastic!
It’s been a day full of music, laughter, and creativity here at Bridge House. 😊

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day – a day to recognise the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere. 🌸

At Bridge House, we are proud to be surrounded by incredible women every day — the wonderful ladies who live here, the dedicated staff who care for them, and the daughters, granddaughters, sisters, nieces and friends who are part of our community.

Their wisdom, kindness, and strength continue to shape our home in the most meaningful ways.

💕 A Heartwarming Valentine’s Afternoon Tea 💕
What a truly special afternoon we shared celebrating Valentine’s Day with a wonderful Afternoon Tea, filled with sweet treats, laughter, and love. 💖

Our fantastic Activities Coordinator, Stacey, hosted a beautiful live singing request set, creating the perfect soundtrack for the occasion. It was simply lovely to see our residents smiling, singing along, and enjoying precious moments with their relatives. 🎶

A huge thank you must also go to Ali in the kitchen, whose hard work and dedication always ensure we have the most delicious cakes and treats to enjoy. Everything looked beautiful and tasted amazing — your effort truly made the afternoon extra special. 🍰✨

Days like these remind us how meaningful connection, music, and togetherness really are. Creating opportunities for joy and shared memories is at the heart of everything we do, and this celebration was no exception.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly care home team to work two days per week (14hrs) Including every other weekend. You’ll play a key role in preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals that meet the needs and preferences of our residents.
Key responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook fresh, well-balanced meals daily
• Cater for special dietary requirements (e.g. soft diets, allergies)
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Manage stock, food rotation, and basic ordering
• Work cooperatively with care and management teams
About you:
• Experience cooking in a care, catering, or similar setting (preferred but not essential)
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety
• Organised, dependable, and able to work independently
• A caring attitude and pride in producing good-quality food

Today residents enjoyed a relaxed and creative Valentine’s activity, making beautiful tea light holders using recycled jam jars.

There was plenty of conversation, laughter, and shared ideas as everyone decorated their jars, and the finished pieces looked wonderful when lit.

Activities like these are a lovely way for residents to express themselves, spend time together, and enjoy a calm, cosy atmosphere.
