We were honoured to join the Officers' Association's final reception at London's In & Out Club on 5th June - a moving evening that celebrated over a century of unwavering support.

Current and former Presidents, Vice-Presidents, honorary representatives, staff and guests came together to honour the OA's legacy and the thousands of officers and families who have been helped since its founding just after the end of the First World War.

A heartfelt thank you to Air Marshal Sir Baz North and Chairman Alex Spofforth for their inspiring reflections on why the OA's mission matters. We are honoured to be part of the OA's legacy alongside military charities, supporting existing beneficiaries to ensure their on-going support for the years to come.

Together we celebrated camaraderie, service, the spirit of the OA and its enduring legacy.

🇬🇧 Today we join the nation in marking VE Day, honouring the end of WWII in Europe and the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of all who served.

As commemorations continue across the UK this week, we remember those who fought for our freedom—both on the front lines and at home—and recognise the legacy they leave for our Armed Forces community today.

From the jubilant crowds on 8 May 1945 to today's veterans and families, we say thank you.

80 Years On: Remembering the Long March

In January 1945, over 10,000 Allied POWs were forced to march 62 miles in freezing conditions as the Germans evacuated Stalag Luft III in Żagań, Poland, ahead of the advancing Soviet Army. This was the same camp where the famous Great Escape took place a year earlier.

80 years later, Kirsty Turnbull attended the commemorations, retracing the steps of her husband’s uncle, Lt Eric Margetts RN, who endured the march.

A powerful tribute to resilience, sacrifice, and remembrance. Read more: https://www.ladygrover.org.uk/the-long-march-a-commemoration-of-courage-and-resilience/

We’re delighted to announce that the Officers' Association has become our first Group Member! All their beneficiaries will now be part of the Lady Grover family, gaining access to financial support in the event of an unexpected injury or illness.

This means help towards the costs of home nursing, private hospital accommodation, convalescence costs and home help, when they need it the most.

We launched the Group Membership scheme at the end of 2024 to meet the need for armed forces organisations and associations to join on behalf of their membership base. We've been overwhelmed by the positive response since we launched and we're so happy to welcome the OA into the fold.

If you'd like to find out more about how your organisation could benefit from becoming part of Lady Grover's Group Membership scheme, visit: ladygrover.org.uk

This week, Lee Holloway, CEO of the OA and Chief Executive of Lady Grover, attended the Admiralty Service at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, followed by a reception hosted by RNRMC in the iconic crypt. It was a wonderful opportunity for Lee to reconnect with friends WO Michael (Ronnie) Rendall and WO Gary (Vinnie) Vines, as well as Angela Rippon. A memorable event in a truly historic setting!

Lady Grover’s Fund

The Fund was established in 1911 by Lady Grover whilst living in India as an Army wife. She saw the need to help officers meet the costs of hospital and nursing care arising from family illnesses and injury, as there was no Services medical care available to families at that time.

Lady Grover’s Fund has continued to evolve to help officers of all three Services and their dependants to access critical financial support when they need it the most – helping you to provide additional nursing, hospital or domestic care to assist recovery.
