Talk Club is a UK male mental health charity helping men to improve their mental health.

Talk Club prefer to call it mental fitness because their talking groups actively help men to understand how they’re feeling by asking ‘How are you? Out of 10?’ then explaining why. It helps to build resilience, and the numbers prove it.

On average, a TC talk and listen group raises a man’s mental fitness by over 15%.

It’s why local pubs to global corporates, and 18 to 80+ year olds across the world, are now using Talk Club.

Join our community and start by putting a number on how you really feel.

Travel and prescriptions

Remember if you’re going away this year, particularly around the August Bank Holiday, it’s important to ensure you’ve got enough of your medications to last for your entire trip. Please allow plenty of time when you order your prescription.

We ask for 72 working hours for your prescription to be done but please also allow time for your pharmacy to prepare your medication ready for collection.

Why not use your time away this summer to have a social media break? Evidence suggests that switching off for a period can have a huge positive impact on your mental health. A digital detox can help you to be more present, to focus more on those around you, and it reduces stress and anxiety. Give it a try!

Extreme temperatures

This summer we’ve experienced temperatures far exceeding previous years, and it doesn’t look set to end anytime soon. Hot weather can cause health issues in the young and vulnerable, but it’s important for everyone to take a few steps to keep cool when the heat rises:
Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day; don’t wait until you’re thirsty
Limit alcohol intake
If you’re going to do a physical activity, plan to do this during times of the day when it’s cooler
Stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day
Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun
Keep an eye on those around you for any signs of heat exhaustion.

Hot weather and heatwaves Although many people enjoy warmer, summer weather, anyone can become unwell if they get too hot. People can become unwell through overheating, dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Hot weather can also place strains on water and energy networks, road and rail transpo...

At Close Farm, your care is our priority.

To help us serve you better, we are introducing Heidi, an AI-powered medical scribe that helps us document your consultations more efficiently.

What is Heidi?

Heidi Health transcribes conversations between you and your clinician to create accurate clinical notes and follow-up materials. This means we spend less time on paperwork and more time focussing on you.

There is no element of the AI programme influencing or advising the clinician’s thinking or decision making process – Heidi Health is purely a note taking tool, not a clinical assistance programme. The clinician will double check the accuracy and completeness of the notes before saving them to your clinical record.

Key benefits:

More time for your care: We can concentrate on you rather than note taking and administrative tasks.

Accuracy and efficiency: The salient details of your consult are transcribed accurately in the most efficient way during your consultation.

Streamlined workflow: By simplifying administrative duties, Heidi eases the burden on our clinicians and helps ensure better access to care.

Your data:

Your privacy is essential. Heidi complies with UK regulations (Data Protection Act, GDPR, NHS standards) and hosts all data within the UK. Rest assured, conversations are transcribed in real time with no recordings kept.

If you would prefer your clinician not to use Heidi Health to help them write their notes, please do let them know and they can make sure it is not activated for your consultation.

You can learn more about Heidi here... https://www.heidihealth.com/uk.

If you suspect a neighbour is feeling lonely or isolated, why not offer them a lift to one of our Community Welcome Spaces?
They offer a warm and friendly welcome, are free to use and are a great way to meet other people. Some offer hot drinks, activities and facilities plus information on local support.

Find a welcome space near you here: www.southglos.gov.uk/community-welcome-spaces

And if you have concerns about someone aged over 50, you can call Age UK South Gloucestershire on 01454 411707.
