Hi, my name is Nicky and I would like to tell you why I decided to become a nutritionist and lifestyle coach. I have been a yoyo dieter all my life and my weight has varied from 9 stone 2 in my 20s' to 14 stone 2 after I had my second child in 2012. I have tried all the diets and pills and I have discovered the word “diet” is a very powerful word that can bring all sorts of negative thoughts and emotions, especially if you have an unhealthy relationship with food. It was when I started to see a Nutritionist that I started to become passionate about the subject, as I was seeing fantastic results while following a food plan that fitted my requirements and nutritional needs. I am now the fittest and healthiest I have ever been. What I aim to do is work with you on a 1-1 basis and devise a flexible eating plan, which incorporates all the foods you like, introducing new foods and exciting flavours while losing weight, set realistic goals which will lead to a permanent change in the way you eat and view food.
I will look at your current habits and behaviours, and make small changes so the lifestyle change is a permanent one, stopping the ongoing yoyo dieting cycle.
We will also talk openly about emotional eating, eating patterns, sleep, movement and food environment, and how all these elements can effect you weight.
Weekly check-ins can be face to face, telephone call or online. I will work out an individual flexible meal plan that fits your needs which removes restriction, (the key word is moderation), while still maintaining your dietary requirements. I will also look at your current activity levels, suggest different ways to become more active and suggest quick and easy ways to cook and prepare your food. I will also offer ongoing daily support via email, text or facebook group and will reply to your queries within 24 hours.
