I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a UKCP registered Psychotherapist in Training, currently studying for an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, at Bath Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BCPC). Before I decided to pursue a Counselling qualification I spent ten years as a Psychiatric Nurse. As well as my counselling service, I offer low-cost Psychotherapy for adult
s in Bristol and I bring to my practice not only the rich, diverse experiences and resilience I gained as a Psychiatric nurse, but also the intuition and warmth I have cultivated as a Counsellor, in order to nurture and inform my development and ability to work at greater relational depth as a Psychotherapist. The therapeutic relationship we develop and the bond of trust we form will become the most important part of your therapy โ giving you a framework that will support and guide you through the changing landscape of our work together. My work as a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist recognises, includes and respects every individual, and is informed and supported by a wealth of theory and practice. Therapy is not about the therapist, itโs about you, the client. We will both work together to explore your issues, by increasing your understanding and awareness. Therapy does not necessarily need to be about specific problems โ but it can provide an invaluable opportunity for you to get to know and understand yourself better in a safe and confidential space. Ultimately I want you to be able to live your life empowered and independent of me.
