I'm Zoe, a local Mum to 2 girls aged 10 and 7 years old, and as a busy Mum, I understand that all parents and carers face challenges far too regularly when our little ones become poorly, or have an accident. My 7 year-old is very accident prone, and I am so glad to have my first aid knowledge so I know what to do. Having that knowledge also helps you stay calm, which in turn will help comfort and reassure your child right when they need it! Our 2-hour baby and child first aid class is suitable for any adults who care for children – parents, grandparents, babysitters, expectant parents and anyone in between! The class is relaxed and friendly, and we cover the following first aid/medical emergency topics - CPR, Choking, Burns & Bleeds, Breaks, Head Bumps, Febrile Convulsions and Meningitis Awareness all for just £25.00 per person!

🤫 We talk a lot about first aid for bumps and bruises, but what about the kind of health issues that don’t get discussed at the school g*tes or toddler groups? Things like pelvic floor health. If the words “trampoline” or “sneeze” make you clench involuntarily, then you’re not alone – and you’re not broken.

💚 Founder of Mini First Aid Kate Ball is joined by Claire Sparrow, specialist in pelvic health, Pilates guru, and best-selling author of Hope for Your Pelvic Floor. Together, they break the silence on pelvic floor issues like prolapse and postnatal incontinence. But most importantly, Claire shares the message every parent needs to hear:

🥰 “There is hope. You don’t have to just put up with it.”

🗣 Let’s dive into everything they covered – from symptoms to solutions and why your breath may be the most important exercise of all.

🧸 When you hear the word hospital, “fun” and “play” are probably the last things that come to mind - especially when it comes to your child. But what if we told you that play could actually help children cope with the trauma of hospital visits, recover faster, and even face frightening treatments with calm and confidence?

🪇 In this blog, Mini First Aid founder Kate is joined by Megan Holmes, a Health Play Specialist at Leeds Children’s Hospital, and parent Cheryl Duerden, whose son Seth has experienced the transformative power of play therapy firsthand. Their conversation shines a light on the vital (but often overlooked) role of play therapy in paediatric healthcare.

🏥 Whether your little one is facing a short stay or long-term hospital treatment, understanding the role of a play specialist could make all the difference. Read on to learn how these amazing professionals support children - and how play can become one of the most powerful tools in your child’s medical journey.

🚨 One in 20 children will have a febrile seizure, yet many parents have never heard of them and they can be pretty scary to experience.
