Public service announcement from your chiropractor 😅

Can we talk about the real epidemic in clinic right now…
Unmatching socks.

You come in with a tight back, a grumpy neck, maybe a dodgy hip…
I’m ready. Adjusting table ready. Hands warmed up.

Then the shoes come off.
And suddenly I’m confronted with:

🧦 One festive Christmas sock
🧦 One serious black sports sock
🧦 Or the legendary combo: fluffy + trainer liner

I’m trying to assess posture but now I’m emotionally processing sock chaos.

Is it a cry for help?
A fashion statement?
A neurological test I wasn’t trained for?

Don’t worry — I will still treat you with the same professionalism and care.
But internally, I am judging the socks.

That said… if mismatched socks are the worst thing you bring to clinic, we’re doing alright 😉

Move better. Feel stronger. Stay active.

Exercise of the Week: Standing Hip Abduction (with resistance band)

Strong hips are key for good posture, balance, and protecting your lower back and knees. This simple exercise is great if you sit a lot, run, walk, or want to support everyday movement.

How to do it:

Place a resistance band around your ankles

Stand tall, holding a wall or chair for balance

Slowly move one leg out to the side, keeping toes facing forward

Control the movement back in

Repeat 10–15 times each side

Why it helps:

✔️ Supports back, knee, and lower-limb health
✔️ Reduces injury risk and compensations
✔️ Easy to do at home

This lovely boy has ongoing knee issues due to a luxating patella, which isn’t severe enough to warrant surgery but does benefit from ongoing support.

He stays happy and active with regular maintenance treatments, including gentle spinal manipulation and low-level laser therapy to support comfort and mobility.

He didn’t enjoy treatment at first and, like many dogs who struggle at the vets, found the environment challenging. By taking things slowly and building trust at his pace, he now genuinely enjoys his sessions.

Don’t be fooled by the cute looks though — if he’s not happy with something, he’s very clear about it! A classic (and beautiful) Patterdale Terrier 🖤🐾
