We have a Full Moon in Scorpio growing into her fullness this week and blooming on May 1st… known as the Flower Moon, this is the first of two Full Moons in May, with the second one on May 31st which will be a Blue Moon … 1st and 31st, like bookends.
A Moon that reveals a secret, a truth or a deeper knowing that holds the key to our transformation and our evolutionary path forward…
We are moving into new landscape, feeling the changes within us as our collective consciousness shifts and so it’s important for us to stay open to seeing what the path forward is so that we may follow the new trails… we can see further, vision opens up, and get glimpses of the ripe fruits of possibility.
It is said that the Buddha became enlightened under a Scorpio Full Moon during Ta**us season.
Expanded consciousness is all around us now and we can see it as a stream of pure white light that is cleansing our lenses of perception and enlivening our mental streams with new currents and higher frequencies…
It is also Beltane, May Day festival that marks the midway point between the Equinox and the Solstice.
Beltane means “bright fire” and fire has always played a central symbolic role at Beltane, not only as a source of light and warmth, but as a powerful agent of renewal…
Through the flow of change, only change itself is constant. What is true? Set down what is not real.
The Full Moon offers a much-needed breath of fresh air, clearing blocked energy channels. It’s a Full Moon for brainstorming, sharing stories, and co-creating a better vision of the future.
According to Vedic astrology, the Full Moon falls in Swati nakshatra, an area of the sky connected to the power of the wind. Known as “the young sprout blowing in the wind,” Swati is a star that symbolises the resilience of life and the force of pranic channels to sustain life. A few minutes of conscious breathing can soften the mind, steady the emotions, and reconnect you with your deeper intentions on this Full Moon.
Swati Full Moon is ruled by Vayu, the Vedic god of wind, and carries the shakti to scatter seeds and ideas with the wind. Under this Full Moon, a powerful current of life energy can carry prayers and intentions far and wide. Meditation, chanting, and pranayama practices are especially potent now.
This Full Moon is also celebrated as Buddha Purnima, the day of enlightenment of Lord Buddha under the sacred Bodhi tree. The Buddha taught liberation through steady awareness, discipline of the mind, and the clear light of inner seeing.
In Vedic Astrology, Mercury is called Buddha, a name related to buddhi, the faculty of intelligence, discernment, and awareness.
This is a good time for holy wishes, study and vision quests.
Jupiter’s aspect (dristi) gives this Full Moon a sense of grace and possibility.
Tension, fatigue, or the feeling of pushing through resistance is also part of a process of now.
Swati Full Moon teaches that real strength is not rigid but flexible and adaptable. By bending with and allowing the unseen currents of life to flow through us, we become stronger.
You may find yourself seeing something clearly that you’ve known for a while but haven’t fully acknowledged. This Moon makes what’s already true easier to recognise and acknowledge.
Scorpio is the sign of transformation. It asks what needs to be released so something more honest can take its place.
This Full Moon can feel intense, but it has a purpose: to help you see what’s ready to change.
Scorpio wants depth, honesty, and evolution. Full Moon in Ta**us Sun may show you where you’ve been holding onto something because it feels safe, even if it no longer feels true.
If you feel an urge to rush decisions, pause. This is simply a moment to recognise what has shifted internally, so your external life can begin to reflect it. Not a Moon to rush in.
Let this Moon remind you that lasting transformation begins with truth. What rises now is here to free energy that has been tied up in avoidance, fear, or protection.
The more willing you are to meet yourself truthfully, the more spacious your next chapter becomes.
Collectively, this Full Moon activates the archetype of The Alchemist.

Scorpio is an alchemical sign. Alchemy, as in transforming base materials into potions, tonics, and elixirs. As in warming liquid to a simmer and burning off the impurities, refining the contents.
Scorpio summons intensity. Deep feelings. Underground essences.
This is the close and invisible realm of intimacy, ancestors, and entanglements. The place where lifeblood is given and taken.
What’s been residing in the shadows comes out of hiding.
Under this Moon, may revelry and revelations take root.
