I am always telling my clients about neuroplasticity and 'rewiring their brains'. Well, I have needed to take my own advice!! Many things I used to do to help my wellbeing, like reading and yoga have 'fallen by the wayside' and I have found it difficult to focus. So, during June, in an attempt to raise money for Cancer Research and help rewire my own brain and boost my mood at the same time, I have been undertaking a 30 day yoga challenge - 30 minutes of yoga per day. If you could spare a pound or two to support Cancer Research, that would be really great. https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/saras-yoga-challenge-giving-page-10

So many people struggle with IBS and we know hypnotherapy can help - it’s even recognised as a treatment option for this by the NHS and NICE. Such a shame that more people aren’t aware of this. In this article a doctor talks about his own, positive experience of using hypnotherapy.

Struggling to get control of anxiety and break unhelpful patterns of behaviour? Do you dismiss hypnotherapy as something silly or scary? I wonder when you will feel ready to make a change? As soon as you've had enough of feeling like you do, you'll let go and relax. And best of all it could be easier than you think. health good

Do you deny yourself foods purely based on the calories?

In order to do this you are bringing your focus to these foods and this, in itself, may increase your desire for them. The opposite of what you hope! If you want to find out more about your mind / body connection and start to take back real control, join Lisa and Sara in '30 days to Kickstart changing your relationship with food'.

Were you'rewarded' with food as a child?
Perhaps you were comforted with chocolate when you fell over and hurt yourself, given sweets for behaving, or bought ice cream on an enjoyable day out. It’s no surprise, then, that as adults, we reward ourselves with food when we feel down, or when we are on holiday, or need a lift. The good news is, it’s possible to create new habits. Look out for our 'Kickstart to changing your relationship with food' starting in January.

Are you feeling disappointed because no diet you have been on has led to long-term change?

Perhaps negative beliefs or programming from your past is holding you back. Research has suggested that using mental imagery techniques can significantly improve long-term outcomes. Keep watching this page to find out more.

We act is though there is no unconscious, or only 'hippy/dippy' or 'airy/fairy' people believe in it. Increase your awareness by observing your emotions and body reactions. Be more conscious of what thoughts you give your attention to.

The Western world has split off the conscious mind from the roots in the subconscious and lost many of its interactions with the unconscious that nourished us, like dreams, visions and rituals. It is by exploring and tapping into the unconscious that we are able to realise our full potential, find true inner peace and make lasting change.

Hypnotherapy can help you to easily and effortlessly access this part of your brain and change unhelpful habits and thought patterns.

Follow a relaxing bedtime routine to unwind i.e - reading, crafts, music.
Turn the clockface away from you and do not check it in the night, as this can promote anxiety
Avoid blue light - (although any type of light stops you feeling sleepy); computer screens, tablets, smartphones, flatscreen TV's and LED lamps all emit blue light
If you are worried about getting to sleep - try to stay awake when you get into bed, as the anxiety associated with dropping off is gone. But - no TV or moving around - just try to stay awake.
You can listen to relaxing tracks and guided imagery, such as those you can get from my website.

Improve and manage negative thoughts. Set a 'worry time' an hour or so before bed, when you jot down ideas for the morning, or any worries and concerns - 'empty your head' and give your brain permission to let go of them.
