Chartwell House Care Home We believe care is more than just a service; it's a profound feeling of comfort, security, and genuine connection.

Chartwell House is supported by a team of experienced and dedicated individuals, who not only provide outstanding tailored care, but also help residents with all aspects of their lives, from creating long-lasting friendships to enjoying nutritious homecooked food. The building does not make our home, our people do. We are a family run business with over twenty years’ experience. Our team has owned

, operated and managed a number of successful care homes in the South East of England. From the beginning, our objective was simple; to deliver the highest quality care from a dedicated team in a safe, modern and warm environment. We know what it takes to provide a home that we can all be proud of.

We are delighted to welcome our new Deputy Manager, Mohammad Mraiheen, to Chartwell House Care Home.

Mohammad brings with him a wealth of experience in the care sector, along with a strong passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. We are excited to have him join our team and look forward to the positive impact he will make within our home.

Here’s a message from Mohammad:
“Hello everyone, I’m really looking forward to getting to know our residents, their families, and the team.

I have worked in care since 2019, starting as a carer and progressing through different roles into leadership positions, where I have had the opportunity to lead multiple amazing teams. Throughout my journey, I have worked in a variety of care settings, including support work, and have had the privilege of meeting many wonderful residents, families, and colleagues along the way. These experiences have shaped my passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

I understand how important it is for residents to feel safe, respected, and truly at home, and for families to feel confident and reassured about the care their loved ones receive. My approach is to be approachable, supportive, and open, and I strongly believe that good communication and teamwork are key to creating a positive and caring environment.

Over the coming weeks, I look forward to spending time with residents, learning about their individual preferences and routines, and working closely with the team to continue providing the best possible care. I also welcome the opportunity to build strong relationships with relatives, so please feel free to speak with me whenever you visit.”

Please join us in giving Mohammad a very warm welcome!

It was a day full of laughter, sunshine and special moments with visiting family who joined in the fun. So grateful for these simple, joyful traditions and the memories we made together 💛

Are you caring for someone living with dementia? This guide is for the family carers who are doing the hardest job there is, often without formal training, often without enough sleep, and always with more love than they’re probably giving themselves credit for. We want to help you understand what these expressions of need really mean, how to read them more confidently, and what to do in those difficult moments at home 💙

Changes in communication and behaviour aren’t just symptoms — they’re often a way of expressing unmet needs, emotions, or discomfort. With the right approach, we can create more meaningful connections and improve quality of life for both individuals and their loved ones.

At Chartwell House, we focus on compassionate, personalised care that respects every individual’s unique journey, helping them feel understood, valued, and supported every day.

When someone with dementia can't find the words, behaviour becomes their language. We explain what expressions of need really mean.

Here's some of our lovely residents taking part in a range of brain training exercises 🧠 From wordsearches and crosswords to spot-the-difference challenges, these activities are a great way to keep minds engaged while having fun together.

Regular cognitive exercises are so important for maintaining mental sharpness, improving memory, and supporting overall wellbeing. This can be particularly beneficial for people living with dementia, helping to stimulate thinking skills, encourage concentration, and provide a sense of achievement 💙

A little brain workout each day can make a big difference to everyone.

Our next Residents and Relatives Meeting is taking place on Thursday 7 May at 6:30pm. We hope to see lots of relatives and friends there for another fun and friendly evening together 💛

This meeting is an important opportunity to share your views, give feedback, and stay informed about what’s happening within Boutique Care Homes, and especially here at Chartwell House.

The evening’s theme is Tapas & Tunes🎶 Enjoy traditional Spanish refreshments along with a fun team quiz!

These meetings are a valuable way for residents and families to come together, share experiences, and help us continue to monitor and improve the services we provide to your loved ones.

If you’re unable to attend, we are happy to circulate the meeting minutes afterwards, just let reception know.

We look forward to your support and hope to see you there 😊

Yesterday a few of our residents braved the blustery weather for a proper pub lunch in Ramsgate 🍽️ and what a fantastic outing it turned out to be! It quickly became a lovely girls’ trip, full of laughter and great company 💕

The trip brought back joyful, special memories for one of our residents in particular, who lived in Ramsgate, and it holds a very special place in her heart.

We were also joined by Maddie from EKC Canterbury College, who is currently on work experience with us. She’s been getting a real feel for how we bring activities and lifestyle to life here, with a focus on meaningful, research-informed experiences that truly enrich our residents’ days 🌟 For frequent visitors to Chartwell House, you'll likely better recognise Maddie in her Hostess uniform, as we have the pleasure of her service with a smile in the Bistro too!

It was such a special trip, and everyone returned home absolutely beaming 😊 They’re already spreading the word and encouraging others to join the next adventure...we can’t wait!

🌤️ Now that the sun is finally making a (slightly shy!) appearance, our regular garden club activities are back in full swing! 🌼

Our residents had a lovely time enjoying some fresh air, soaking up the sunshine, and feeding the birds 🐦 It’s these simple moments outdoors that bring so much joy and connection.

Here’s to more fresh air, blooming gardens, and happy days ahead! 🌿

Care costs are one of the biggest concerns families face when thinking about a care home. Who actually pays? Does the house have to be sold? Is there any state help, even if you're self-funding?

To help, we've brought in Nicky Cave from Eldercare Group to answer exactly those questions. Free, online, and without the jargon.

Join us on Zoom on 6 May at 11am, or in person, at Chartwell House. Spaces are free but limited.

April's brought us a few opportunities to enjoy the sunshine ☀️ and we've made the most of it by getting some fresh air with our wonderful residents.

We’re so lucky to have the beautiful grounds here at Chartwell House, featuring a sensory area, raised beds, planters, a vegetable garden, and even bug 🐞 and bird 🐦 houses — something for everyone to enjoy!

For those who fancy exploring a little further, our Walking & Rolling Club offers the perfect chance to explore the local community at a relaxed and enjoyable pace.

Moments like these make all the difference 💚
