🎶 What a truly special afternoon we’ve had at Chartwell House! 🎶

We were delighted to welcome Lissie & Christine from Music in Hospitals & Care, and what a wonderful experience it was for everyone involved.

The residents absolutely loved the performance, and there was one particularly magical moment where we were whisked away to France. The beautiful blend of accordion and piano made it feel as though we were sitting right in front of the Eiffel Tower, such a truly immersive and engaging experience.

It was a joyful afternoon filled with music, memories, and smiles all around 😊

A huge thank you to Lissie & Christine for such a memorable visit. We can’t wait to welcome you back!

🎶 What a fantastic afternoon we’ve had at Chartwell House! 🎶

Today we welcomed the wonderful Ben for his very first performance with us and what a lasting impression he made! From start to finish, his song choices were absolutely perfect, bringing smiles to everyone in the room 😊

Residents (and staff!) thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, with plenty of toe tapping, singing along, and even a bit of dancing along the way 💃🕺

We’re so grateful to have had Ben join us and we very much hope this will be the first of many visits!

This week is Nutrition and Hydration Week (16–22 March), an annual celebration to highlight and promote improvements in nutrition and hydration across the UK. And we're marking it in the most delicious way possible. ☀️🍓

🍀 What a fantastic day we’ve had at Chartwell House celebrating St Patrick’s Day! 🍀

Our Bistro was transformed into an authentic Irish pub (no flights needed just a good imagination and even better company! 😉), setting the scene for a truly special celebration. Residents enjoyed a delicious traditional Irish lunch of hearty Irish stew with colcannon, followed by a rich Guinness cake for dessert… safe to say there were no leftovers! 😋

The afternoon really brought the spirit of the day to life! We hosted an Irish-themed "pub" quiz that was both educational and fun, although we discovered we may have a few very competitive residents in the house 👀🍀

Irish folk music filled the room, later shifting to some more modern favourites which of course led to a bit of dancing.

Our fantastic kitchen team also treated us to freshly made soda bread, and yes… we made sure to sample some Guinness too (purely for quality control purposes, of course! 🍺). A warming Irish coffee was also on hand for those who needed it ☕️

It was such a lovely afternoon, truly capturing what Ireland is all about, home, family, laughter, and celebration ❤️

And this is just the beginning! As part of NAPA’s Year of Culture, we’re excited to continue celebrating, educating, and appreciating the many wonderful cultures that make up our world 🌍

To be a finalist means so much to our team, as it reflects the compassion, dedication and truly exceptional care we strive to provide every single day for residents living with dementia 🙏

By getting to know each resident’s life story, preferences and what brings them joy, we’re able to create meaningful support within our specialist Nostalgia Community for residents living with dementia 💚

We’re honoured to be recognised alongside other inspiring services across Kent, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with everyone when the winners are announced in May ✨

🌸 International Women’s Day at Chartwell House 🌸

On Sunday morning we had a wonderful visit from our fantastic Laura (Everysing) , who treated us to an uplifting singing session to celebrate International Women’s Day. 🎤✨

She performed lots of empowering songs by amazing female artists, and before long our ladies (and a few of the gents too) were up on their feet, moving and grooving along to the music! 💃🕺

It was a joyful morning filled with singing, dancing, and celebrating the strength and spirit of women everywhere. Thank you, Laura, for such a fantastic performance! 💖

🎉 Our Carnival Games went down a treat here at Chartwell House! 🎉

There was lots of laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of excitement as everyone tried their luck at the different games. Best of all, lots and lots of prizes were won throughout the day! 🏆🎁

It was wonderful to see so many smiles and hear the cheers as residents enjoyed the fun and celebrated their wins. A fantastic time was had by all! 🎈
