A brand-new month means a brand-new Wellbeing Programme and September is bursting with joy, connection and plenty of reasons to join in. 💛

🌟 Saturday 6th September – Our much-loved Vintage Car Show returns for its third year! Always a day of fun, music and wonderful reminiscence perfect for car lovers and memory-makers alike. 🚙🎶
☕🍰 Macmillan Coffee Morning – This year we’re adding a playful twist with a Trunchbull-inspired cake eating competition (yes, straight out of Matilda!) – all in support of an incredible cause.
Alongside these, our programme is full of mind-stretching, body-moving, laughter-evoking and friendship-building activities that make life at Chartwell House so special. 💕

🚒🔥 This morning at Chartwell House we had some very special visitors...The team from Ramsgate Fire Brigade!

Our residents had a brilliant time chatting with the crew, exploring the fire engine up close, and even trying on the helmets 👩‍🚒🧑‍🚒. There were lots of smiles, stories, and plenty of laughter along the way 💛.

A huge thank you to the Ramsgate Fire Brigade for taking time out of their busy day to come and see us, your visit truly made everyone’s morning! 🙏✨

☀️🐾 Is it possible to have too much fun? We don’t think so!

Today’s Summer Fair at Chartwell House was nothing short of amazing 💛✨. A little cloud, a bit of bluster, and even a cheeky 2-minute shower couldn’t dampen our spirits — the smiles said it all!

🐑 The alpacas made everyone’s day 🥰
🍔 The BBQ was a real crowd-pleaser
🎟️ The tombola had queues of excited faces
🎶 And Nick Kelly had us all clapping, toe-tapping and singing along to some real classics, including My Old Man’s a Dustman!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for such a joyful afternoon. Your energy, laughter and support truly made the day unforgettable 💕.

🦙 Alpacas visiting between 12–1pm – guaranteed to melt hearts!
🍔 BBQ feast with plenty of delicious treats fresh off the grill
🎲 Games galore and chances to win yourself some goodies
🎶 Live music from the wonderful Nick Kelly to close the day in style
🎈 Bouncy castle to keep the little ones smiling all afternoon!

🌿 Yesterday, our Chartwell House team – Jude and Carl – were delighted to support the Thanet Dementia Action Alliance to deliver a Dementia Friends Session at the wonderful Thanet Disabled Riding Centre 🐎✨.
The team of staff and volunteers there are truly inspiring so eager to learn, so engaged throughout, and so determined to make their centre a dementia-friendly space 💜. Their warmth and community spirit shone through, and now they’re even better equipped to extend that same kindness to everyone living with dementia who visits.
It was a session with a difference held in the great outdoors, with a surprise shower of rain (British summertime at its finest ☔😉) and even a cheeky baby seagull who made its voice heard! The horses and ponies were just as much a part of the day too, happily nuzzling into the group photos at the end 🐴💭.
We couldn’t be prouder of everyone who became a Dementia Friend today – a small step that makes a big difference 💜.

Our residents love getting creative, and there’s something so special about sitting together as a group, sharing stories, laughter, and a splash of colour 🎨💐. Arts and crafts always brings out the smiles and it’s even better when we can enjoy it in such lovely company. 💛

It’s moments like these that remind us how powerful creativity and connection can be 🫶

✨🎶 What a weekend at Chartwell House! 🎶✨

We brought a taste of Notting Hill Carnival right into our home – and it was every bit as colourful, vibrant and joyful as you’d imagine 🌈🥁💃. Our wonderful team treated everyone to live entertainment, plenty of dancing, and of course some absolutely delicious carnival-inspired food 🍲😋.

It was a true celebration of culture, community and togetherness a weekend filled with laughter, music and memories we’ll treasure. 💛

We’re so excited to be hosting our very own Notting Hill Carnival Event, Tomorrow, Sunday 24th August, 2–4pm 🎶💃🕺. Expect all the colour, music, and joy of carnival right here with us it’s set to be a fabulous afternoon!

👗👕 Don’t forget to wear your brightest, boldest and most colourful outfit, because we’ll be holding a Best Dressed Competition 🎉 with prizes for the most dazzling looks!

Everyone is welcome to join the fun, so gather your family and friends and let’s celebrate in true carnival style 🥳🥁🌺.

☀️🚍 What a wonderful day our Chartwell House residents had on their outing to Ramsgate!

We started with a tasty bite to eat at Wetherspoons 🍴 before enjoying a lovely stroll along the promenade 🌊💛. The sea breeze, beautiful views, and good company made it extra special and of course, we couldn’t resist picking up a few goodies along the way 🛍️😊.

It was the perfect mix of food, fun, and fresh air, a day full of smiles and happy memories. ✨
