This week, we took a trip to Thanet Food Link donate and support those less fortunate within the Thanet area. We had the pleasure of meeting Heather, the manager, who does an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes work to keep the service running, as well as four wonderful volunteers. As a small thank you for their hard work and dedication, we brought cupcakes along for them to enjoy. 🧁

We’re proud to have built a new partnership with Thanet Food Link and will be donating regularly to help support their ongoing needs. There are many donation centres across Thanet, including Cliftonville Community Centre, St Peter’s Church, and others, all working tirelessly to support the local community. This visit was a powerful reminder that there are so many people around us who need support, and even small acts of kindness can make a real difference. 🥘💚

What a busy and fun-filled day at Copperfield Court! 🌟

This morning, some of our residents asked if they could help out and be part of the team — so of course we said yes! Tunics on and ready to go, residents got involved in the tea trolley, washing up, drying cutlery, preparing cookies for the bistro, and helping to create our bistro welcome board at the front of the home. 🥰

These moments are so important as they support inclusive care, build confidence, encourage independence, and give residents real choice in how they spend their day. Seeing the pride and smiles while working together was just wonderful 💛

We finished the day with mocktail making and bingo, complete with prizes, laughter, and lots of happy faces 🍹🎉 Another brilliant day of teamwork and community at Copperfield Court! 💚

A Sweet Afternoon at Copperfield Court! 🥐🍓

Today at Copperfield Court, we had some puff pastry fun in our home! We enjoyed experimenting with puff pastry, creating a variety of delicious treats filled with chocolate, jam, strawberries and more.

Everyone got involved trying out different patterns, sizes and shapes, letting creativity shine.

The freshly baked pastries were then served on our afternoon tea trolley, filling the home with wonderful aromas and allowing all residents to enjoy a warm, homemade treat together.

Activities like baking are not only enjoyable but also help stimulate the mind, encourage creativity, and promote a sense of achievement.
They support fine motor skills, spark memories, and create opportunities for social interaction — all helping to enrich lives and enhance wellbeing.

A Special Visitor Took Us Under Their Wing 🦉

Our residents recently had the absolute pleasure of taking part in a truly incredible Birds of Prey session hosted by Owl Adventures, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment Gizmo, the charming Indian Scops owl, made his entrance, the room was filled with wonder, excitement, and smiles.

Residents were fascinated as they learned about these remarkable birds—their habits, personalities, and unique characteristics. Many were even given the rare opportunity to hold them, creating moments of awe, curiosity, and genuine joy. These hands-on experiences sparked lively conversations and laughter throughout the session.

We were also introduced to several other beautiful birds who completely captured our hearts, even if they were a little too quick for the camera! Every encounter added to the magic of the day.

Moments like this are not only unforgettable but incredibly meaningful to individuals. They stimulate the mind, encourage social interaction, lift spirits, and create a positive, vibrant atmosphere, that stays with everyone long after the session ends.

✨ Busy Days & Happy Moments at Copperfield Court Care Home ✨

We’ve had a wonderfully busy few days filled with laughter, creativity, and connection 💛

☀️ Morning fun kicked off with a quick quiz, followed by our lifestyle assistant Matt chatting with every resident to hear their ideas — from activities they’d love to try, to films they want to watch. Your voices matter here!

🎨 In the afternoon, Art Club got hands-on with some modelling, letting creativity shine

🎉 Bingo downstairs brought plenty of excitement — congratulations to Iris and Lesley, who won a hot chocolate Christmas cup set, and to Heather, our star prize winner who took home a massive Toblerone!

🎬 We finished today with a relaxing cinema session, watching A Quiet Place together.

🎄✨ Christmas Day at Copperfield Court Care Home ✨🎄

What a truly magical Christmas we shared together! ❤️

Our residents had the most wonderful day as we welcomed around 15 families into Copperfield Court to celebrate Christmas with us. The atmosphere was full of laughter, love, and festive cheer, with plenty of Prosecco top-ups flowing and delicious food that our families described as “wonderful.” 🥂🍽️

One of the most heart-warming moments came from Wayne, who told us it was “the best Christmas he has ever had.” 🎁✨ Wayne was especially delighted to be reunited with a very special visitor who travelled all the way from Florida—a lady he once worked with—making the day even more unforgettable. 🌍💖

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do: creating a home filled with warmth, connection, and joy, especially at Christmas.

✨ A Wonderful Weekend at Copperfield Court ✨

This past weekend (and in the days leading up to it), Copperfield Court was full of activity, laughter, and festive cheer 💙

Residents started their days with energising chair exercises upstairs, before enjoying a sweet afternoon making chocolate-topped Rice Krispie and marshmallow squares 🍫🍬

Under the watchful eye of our very own Sheriff, John WAYNE 🤠
Our creative residents also enjoyed Sketch Club, putting pencil to paper and drawing all manner of fantastic ideas ✏️🎨

The afternoons were wonderfully busy with visits from students from Dane Court, who kept everyone entertained with fun quizzes downstairs, while upstairs the ladies enjoyed a relaxing nail painting session 💅

Derek also gave residents another option by showing a war movie in the cinema, which went down a treat 🎬

To bring a sense of calm, residents took part in a peaceful Christmas guided meditation and relaxation session, complete with candles and aromatherapy 🕯️✨

Later, we were delighted to welcome pupils from Bromstone Primary School, who filled the home with festive spirit through their Christmas carols and songs 🎶❤️

At Copperfield Court Care Home, we’re always proud to partner with our wonderful community — and today was truly something special! 🎄✨

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Corgi Toys team, who surprised our residents with original vintage Corgi toys. The joy on everyone’s faces was priceless as these treasured pieces sparked childhood memories and inspired heartfelt Christmas stories from days gone by. 🚗💖

We were also delighted to have ITV Meridian News join us to capture the magic of the moment. Their visit helped shine a light on the importance of joy, connection, and meaningful stimulation for older adults — especially at Christmas time. 🎥✨

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make today unforgettable. Our hearts (and toy shelves!) are full. 🎁❤️

✨ Another wonderful week at Copperfield Court Care Home comes to an end, and we’re one step closer to Christmas! 🎄

Our festive spirit has been at an all-time high as we hosted our second-ever Christmas Market and Light Switch-On. We were honoured to welcome back the Mayor of Broadstairs, Mike Garner, to lead our lighting ceremony — a very special thank you to him for joining us again.

We also enjoyed a magical visit from Banks the donkey, dressed in full Christmas attire! 🐴🎅 He was an absolute hit with our residents and became a standout attraction throughout the day.

A huge thank you to all our fantastic stallholders — and to our amazing musicians who brought the festive atmosphere to life:

🎄 A Festive Friday at Copperfield Court! 🎄

This morning our wonderful Craft Club residents got creative and made the most adorable festive bookmarks — the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit! ✨📚

Then this afternoon, our hearts were truly touched. We were delighted to welcome back the St George's Church of England Foundation School Choir Club! 🎶

They treated us to some beloved Christmas classics — Away in a Manger, Little Donkey, and Jingle Bells. Their beautiful voices even brought tears to the eyes of our Front of House Manager and Zada, our Senior Care Assistant. ❤️

Even though the choir could only stay for a few songs, the joy they brought filled the whole home. Moments like these remind us why community connections matter so much.

What a weekend we’ve had at Copperfield Court! ✨

We kicked things off with a lively group game of Play Your Cards Right, followed by a cosy showing of the musical Matilda, which everyone absolutely loved.

Our residents enjoyed a snug general knowledge quiz (with hot chocolate, of course!) to get the brains buzzing, and our ever-popular Prize Bingo didn’t disappoint either. 🎉

We also went on a bit of armchair travel to Scotland, sampling Irn Bru and shortbread while taking part in a fun trivia quiz. 🇬🇧✨

The sweet jars had a full makeover too—emptied, cleaned, and restocked by some of our lovely residents. Pam, our shopkeeper, proudly added her Christmas sign to the shop ready for the festive rush!

And to top it all off, we got into the festive spirit by decorating the Christmas trees together. 🎄💫

A busy, joyful weekend full of laughs, treats, and festive cheer at Copperfield Court! 💛
